Abstract

An insulating device backpack may include an outer shell, a first sidewall defining a front portion of the insulating device backpack, and a second sidewall and a third sidewall defining side portions of the insulating device backpack, and a fourth sidewall defining a back portion of the insulating device backpack, an inner liner forming a storage compartment, an insulating layer positioned in between the outer shell and the inner liner, the insulating layer providing insulation for the storage compartment, and an opening configured to allow access to the storage compartment, and a closure adapted to seal the opening.

Claims (45)

1. An insulating device backpack, comprising:

an outer shell comprising:

a first sidewall defining a front portion of the insulating device backpack; and

a second sidewall and a third sidewall defining side portions of the insulating device backpack, and a fourth sidewall defining a back portion of the insulating device backpack;

an inner liner forming a storage compartment;

an insulating layer positioned in between the outer shell and the inner liner, the insulating layer providing insulation for the storage compartment;

a back panel support structure coupled to the fourth sidewall of the outer shell and a binding extending around the back panel support structure, wherein the back panel support structure covers a portion, less than a total surface of the fourth sidewall;

a pair of shoulder straps coupled to a top edge and a lower side edge of the binding that extends around the back panel support structure;

an opening configured to allow access to the storage compartment; and

a closure adapted to seal the opening.

2. The insulating device backpack of claim 1 , wherein the back panel support structure comprises an inner layer, and wherein the inner layer of the back panel support structure is compression molded.

3. The insulating device backpack of claim 1 , wherein the pair of shoulder straps each comprise a buckle configured to adjust a length of the pair of shoulder straps.

4. The insulating device backpack of claim 1 , wherein the closure is substantially waterproof.

5. The insulating device backpack of claim 4 , wherein the closure comprises a zipper.

6. The insulating device backpack of claim 1 , further comprising a plurality of fabric loops coupled to the outer shell.

7. The insulating device backpack of claim 1 , wherein the inner liner is formed of a nylon fabric.

8. The insulating device backpack of claim 7 , wherein the inner liner is formed of a double laminated TPU.

9. The insulating device backpack of claim 1 , further comprising an attachment panel affixed to the outer shell and configured to secure external elements to the outer shell.

10. An insulating device comprising:

an outer shell defining a first sidewall, a second sidewall, a third sidewall, and a fourth sidewall, the second sidewall and the third sidewall defining side portions of the insulating device, and the fourth sidewall defining a back portion of the insulating device;

an inner liner forming a storage compartment;

a back panel support structure coupled to the fourth sidewall of the outer shell and a binding extending around the back panel support structure;

a pair of shoulder straps coupled to a top edge and a lower edge of the binding that extends around the back panel support structure;

an opening configured to allow access to the storage compartment; and

a closure adapted to substantially seal the opening, the closure being substantially waterproof so as to resist liquid from exiting the opening when the insulating device is in any orientation.

11. The insulating device of claim 10 , wherein the outer shell comprises a waterproof material.

12. The insulating device of claim 10 , wherein the inner liner comprises a waterproof material.

13. The insulating device of claim 10 , further comprising a lid assembly and a body assembly.

14. The insulating device of claim 13 , wherein the lid assembly and the body assembly are hingedly coupled to one another.

15. The insulating device of claim 14 , wherein a top handle is coupled to a top surface of the lid assembly.

16. The insulating device of claim 10 , further comprising a waist strap.

17. The insulating device of claim 10 , further comprising a plurality of fabric loops coupled to the outer shell.

18. The insulating device of claim 17 , wherein the plurality of fabric loops are coupled to the second sidewall or the third sidewall.

19. The insulating device of claim 17 , wherein the plurality of fabric loops are coupled to the first sidewall.

20. An insulating device backpack, comprising:

an outer shell comprising:

a first sidewall defining a front portion of the insulating device backpack; and

a second sidewall and a third sidewall defining side portions of the insulating device backpack, and a fourth sidewall defining a back portion of the insulating device backpack;

an inner liner forming a storage compartment;

an insulating layer positioned in between the outer shell and the inner liner, the insulating layer providing insulation for the storage compartment;

a back panel support structure coupled to the fourth sidewall of the outer shell and a binding extending around the back panel support structure, wherein the back panel support structure covers a portion, less than a total surface of the fourth sidewall;

a pair of shoulder straps, coupled to a top edge and a lower side edge of the binding that extends around the back panel support structure;

an opening configured to allow access to the storage compartment;

a closure adapted to seal the opening, the closure comprising a zipper, and wherein the zipper is substantially waterproof; and

a waist strap.
