Abstract

Systems and methods for creating, sharing, and integrating a vendor application are provided. A method for application development and deployment comprises communicating, by a host platform, a framework package corresponding to an application framework, wherein the framework package comprises a software abstraction for providing generic functionality in developing a vendor application, receiving, by the host platform, an application package corresponding to a vendor application, wherein the application package comprises a plurality of metadata files, control method descriptions, and content files, and integrating the application package to generate an integration of the vendor application based on the application framework.

Claims (44)

1 . A method for creating, sharing, and integrating a vendor application into a host platform, the method comprising:

communicating, by a host platform implemented by a host processor, a framework package corresponding to an application framework, wherein the framework package comprises a software abstraction for providing generic functionality in developing a vendor application;

receiving, by the host platform, an application package corresponding to a vendor application, wherein the application package comprises a plurality of metadata files, control method descriptions, and content files; and

integrating the application package to generate an integration of the vendor application based on the application framework; and

initiating a handshake procedure between the vendor application provided by the application package and the host platform, wherein the handshake procedure comprises:

mounting one or more web components of the vendor application at a container;

communicating a first indicator between the container and the host platform to indicate that the application is ready for deployment;

awaiting communication of the first indicator by the host platform;

upon receiving the first indicator, integrating application parameters corresponding to the vendor application;

communicating a second indicator to indicate that the application has been deployed; and

setting parameters of the application to permit rendering by a runtime process.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the integrating comprises providing one or more updated services from the application package to extend functionality of the integration associated with the application package of a vendor application.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the integrating comprises applying one or more preset(s) using one or more plugin component(s).

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the integrating comprises generating one or more route(s) as web components having an organization implemented by a controller of the host platform, wherein the host platform is configured to render each of the one or more route(s).

The method of claim 1 , further comprising: generating an application bundle that implements vendor application in a container, wherein the receiving comprises receiving the application bundle and splitting the application bundle into application one or more bundle chunk(s), each bundle chunk comprising a specific web route component.

6 . A system for creating, sharing and integrating applications, comprising: a processing system having one or more processors that execute computer-executable instructions that cause the processing system to:

communicate, by a host platform, a framework package corresponding to an application framework, wherein the framework package comprises a software abstraction for providing generic functionality in developing a vendor application;

receive, by the host platform, an application package corresponding to a vendor application, wherein the application package comprises a plurality of metadata files, control method descriptions, and content files; and

integrate the application package to generate an integration of the vendor application based on the application framework; and

initiate a handshake procedure between the vendor application provided by the application package and the host platform, wherein the handshake procedure comprises:

mount one or more web components of the vendor application at a container;

communicate a first indicator between the container and the host platform to indicate that the application is ready for deployment;

await communication of the first indicator by the host platform;

upon receiving the first indicator, integrate application parameters corresponding to the vendor application;

communicate a second indicator to indicate that the application has been deployed; and

set parameters of the application to permit rendering by a runtime process.

7 . The system of claim 6 , wherein the integrating comprises providing one or more updated services from the application package to extend functionality of the integration associated with the application package of a vendor application.

8 . The system of claim 6 , wherein the integrating comprises applying one or more preset(s) using one or more plugin component(s).

9 . The system of claim 6 , wherein the integrating comprises generating one or more route(s) as web components having an organization implemented by a controller of the host platform, wherein the host platform is configured to render each of the one or more route(s).

The system of claim 6 , further comprising: generating an application bundle that implements vendor application in a container, wherein the receiving comprises receiving the application bundle and splitting the application bundle into application one or more bundle chunk(s), each bundle chunk comprising a specific web route component.

11 . A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium encoded with instructions that, when executed by a processor, perform operations comprising:

communicating, by a host platform, a framework package corresponding to an application framework, wherein the framework package comprises a software abstraction for providing generic functionality in developing a vendor application;

receiving, by the host platform, an application package corresponding to a vendor application, wherein the application package comprises a plurality of metadata files, control method descriptions, and content files; and

integrating the application package to generate an integration of the vendor application based on the application framework; and

initiating a handshake procedure between the vendor application provided by the application package and the host platform, wherein the handshake procedure comprises:

mounting one or more web components of the vendor application at a container;

communicating a first indicator between the container and the host platform to indicate that the application is ready for deployment;

awaiting communication of the first indicator by the host platform;

upon receiving the first indicator, integrating application parameters corresponding to the vendor application;

communicating a second indicator to indicate that the application has been deployed; and

setting parameters of the application to permit rendering by a runtime process.

12 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the integrating comprises providing one or more updated services from the application package to extend functionality of the integration associated with the application package of a vendor application.

The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the integrating comprises generating one or more route(s) as web components having an organization implemented by a controller of the host platform, wherein the host platform is configured to render each of the one or more route(s).

The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 11 , further comprising: generating an application bundle that implements vendor application in a container, wherein the receiving comprises receiving the application bundle and splitting the application bundle into application one or more bundle chunk(s), each bundle chunk comprising a specific web route component.
