Abstract

A network device transmits a communication indicating a location of the first UE, wherein the first UE is in proximity to a second UE. Further, the network device transmits data in a subframe or time slot, wherein the first UE transmits the data in the subframe or time slot and a second UE receives in the same subframe or time slot, based on the first UE and the second UE being in proximity.

Claims (29)

1. A first user equipment (UE) comprising:

a transceiver; and

a processor operationally coupled to the transceiver;

wherein the processor is configured to:

transmit, via the transceiver, a communication indicating a location of the first UE, wherein the first UE is in proximity to a second UE;

receive, via the transceiver, a scheduling message indicating first frequency resources; and

transmit, via the transceiver, uplink data using the indicated first frequency resources in a subframe or time slot, wherein the first UE transmits the uplink data in the subframe or time slot and a second UE receives downlink data, in response to a scheduling message indicating second frequency resources that at least overlap with the first frequency resources, in the same subframe or time slot, based on the first UE and the second UE being in proximity, the first UE transmission of the uplink data in the subframe or time slot is based on a threshold level.

2. The first UE of claim 1 , wherein the first UE and the second UE are in a same cell of a base station.

3. The first UE of claim 1 , wherein the first UE is in a cell of a base station and the second UE is not in the cell.

4. The first UE of claim 1 , wherein the indicated first frequency resources are LTE resources.

5. The first UE of claim 1 , wherein the same subframe or time slot is the same subframe.

6. A method comprising:

transmitting a communication indicating a location of a first UE, wherein the first UE is in proximity to a second UE;

receiving, a scheduling message indicating first frequency resources; and

transmitting uplink data using the indicated first frequency resources in a subframe or time slot, wherein the first UE transmits the uplink data in the subframe or time slot and a second UE receives downlink data, in response to a scheduling message indicating second frequency resources that at least overlap with the first frequency resources, receives in the same subframe or time slot, based on the first UE and the second UE being in proximity, the first UE transmission of the uplink data in the subframe or time slot is based on a threshold level.

7. The method of claim 6 , wherein the first UE and the second UE are in a same cell of a base station.

8. The method of claim 6 , wherein the first UE is in a cell of a base station and the second UE is not in the cell.

9. The method of claim 6 , wherein the indicated first frequency resources are LTE resources.

10. The method of claim 6 , wherein the same subframe or time slot is the same subframe.

11. A network device comprising:

a transceiver; and

a processor operationally coupled to the transceiver;

wherein the processor is configured to:

receive, via the transceiver, a communication indicating a location of a first UE, wherein the first UE is in proximity to a second UE;

transmit, via the transceiver, a scheduling message indicating first frequency resources; and

receive, via the transceiver, uplink data using the indicated first frequency resources in a subframe or time slot, wherein the first UE transmits the uplink data in the subframe or time slot and a second UE receives downlink data, in response to a scheduling message indicating second frequency resources that at least overlap with the first frequency resources, in the same subframe or time slot, based on the first UE and the second UE being in proximity, the first UE transmission of the uplink data in the subframe or time slot is based on a threshold level.

12. The network device of claim 11 , wherein the first UE and the second UE are in a same cell of a base station.

13. The network device of claim 11 , wherein the first UE is in a cell of a base station and the second UE is not in the cell.

14. The network device of claim 11 , wherein the indicated first frequency resources are LTE resources.
