Abstract

A method may include receiving, by a first base station from a wireless device, one or more temporary mobile group identities (TMGIs) of one or more multimedia broadcast service (MBS) services that the wireless device is receiving or interested to receive. A method may include sending, to a second base station, a message requesting a handover of the wireless device and comprising the one or more TMGIs. A method may include receiving, by the first base station from the second base station, an acknowledge message comprising a group-radio network temporary identifier (G-RNTI) associated with at least one of the one or more MBS services. A method may include transmitting, by the first base station to the wireless device, a radio resource control message comprising the G-RNTI.

Claims (65)

1. A method comprising:

receiving, by a first base station from a wireless device, one or more temporary mobile group identities (TMGIs) of one or more multimedia broadcast service (MBS) services that the wireless device is receiving or interested to receive;

sending, to a second base station, a message requesting a handover of the wireless device and comprising the one or more TMGIs;

receiving, by the first base station from the second base station, an acknowledge message comprising a group-radio network temporary identifier (G-RNTI) associated with at least one of the one or more MBS services; and

transmitting, by the first base station to the wireless device, a radio resource control message comprising the G-RNTI.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the radio resource control message further comprises a handover command.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the acknowledge message further comprises MBS configuration parameters of the at least one of the one or more MBS services, the MBS configuration parameters comprising at least one of:

a TMGI of the one or more TMGIs; or

an MBS session identifier.

4. The method of claim 3 , wherein the MBS configuration parameters further comprise at least one of:

single cell multicast traffic channel (SC-MTCH) scheduling parameters comprising at least one of:

an on-duration timer single cell point to multipoint (SCPTM);

a discontinuous reception (DRX) inactivity timer SCPTM;

a scheduling period start offset SCPTM; or

a cell identifier of an SC-MTCH neighbor cell providing the at least one of the one or more MBS services on SC-MTCH.

5. The method of claim 3 , wherein the MBS configuration parameters further comprise at least one of:

a radio frame allocation period;

a radio frame allocation offset; or

one or more subframe allocation parameters.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the message further comprises an MBS interest service list indicating the one or more MBS services that the wireless device is receiving or interested to receive.

7. The method of claim 6 , wherein the MBS interest service list comprises at least one of:

an MBS frequency;

an MBS session identifier;

a group-radio network temporary identifier (G-RNTI) of an MBS service or a vehicle-to-everything (V2X) service;

a destination layer-2 identifier for the MBS service or the V2X service;

an MBS service priority; or

a V2X service priority.

8. The method of claim 1 , further comprising receiving, from the wireless device, a measurement report, wherein the sending the message is in response to the measurement report.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the message is sent to the second base station via a core network device.

10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the sending the message comprises sending the message to a plurality of second base stations, comprising the second base station.

11. A first base station comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the first base station to:

receive, from a wireless device, one or more temporary mobile group identities (TMGIs) of one or more multimedia broadcast service (MBS) services that the wireless device is receiving or interested to receive;

send, to a second base station, a message requesting a handover of the wireless device and comprising the one or more TMGIs;

receive, from the second base station, an acknowledge message comprising a group-radio network temporary identifier (G-RNTI) associated with at least one of the one or more MBS services; and

transmit, to the wireless device, a radio resource control message comprising the G-RNTI.

12. The first base station of claim 11 , wherein the radio resource control message further comprises a handover command.

13. The first base station of claim 11 , wherein the acknowledge message further comprises MBS configuration parameters of the at least one of the one or more MBS services, the MBS configuration parameters comprising at least one of:

a TMGI of the one or more TMGIs; or

an MBS session identifier.

14. The first base station of claim 13 , wherein the MBS configuration parameters further comprises at least one of:

single cell multicast traffic channel (SC-MTCH) scheduling parameters comprising at least one of:

an on-duration timer single cell point to multipoint (SCPTM);

a discontinuous reception (DRX) inactivity timer SCPTM;

a scheduling period start offset SCPTM; or

a cell identifier of an SC-MTCH neighbor cell providing the at least one of the one or more MBS services on SC-MTCH.

15. The first base station of claim 13 , wherein the MBS configuration parameters further comprises at least one of:

a radio frame allocation period;

a radio frame allocation offset; or

one or more subframe allocation parameters.

16. The first base station of claim 11 , wherein the message further comprises an MBS interest service list indicating the one or more MBS services that the wireless device is receiving or interested to receive.

17. The first base station of claim 16 , wherein the MBS interest service list comprises at least one of:

an MBS frequency;

an MBS session identifier;

a group-radio network temporary identifier (G-RNTI) of an MBS service or a vehicle-to-everything (V2X) service;

a destination layer-2 identifier for the MBS service or the V2X service;

an MBS service priority; or

a V2X service priority.

18. The first base station of claim 11 , wherein the instructions further cause the first base station to receive, from the wireless device, a measurement report, wherein the message is sent in response to the measurement report.

19. The first base station of claim 11 , wherein the message is sent to the second base station via a core network device.

20. A method comprising:

transmitting, by a wireless device to a first base station, a temporary mobile group identifier (TMGI) of a multimedia broadcast service (MBS) that the wireless device is receiving or interested to receive;

receiving, from the first base station, a handover command message comprising a group-radio network temporary identifier (G-RNTI) of a second base station and associated with the MBS; and

receiving, from the second base station and based on the G-RNTI, a packet associated with the MBS.
