SNAP TO GRID BRACKET ASSEMBLY
A bracket assembly includes a stationary plate comprising first and second beam engagement members, the first beam engagement member spaced from the second beam engagement member, each of the first and second beam engagement members configured to extend substantially across and to support the bracket assembly on a top end of a beam; and a rotatable plate defining a plate engagement member engaging the stationary plate, the rotatable plate rotatable relative to the stationary plate at the plate engagement member, the rotatable plate defining a third beam engagement member; wherein the third beam engagement member is configured to extend along a first side of the beam, and the first and second beam engagement members are configured to extend along a second side of the beam opposite the first side.
1 . A bracket assembly comprising:
a stationary plate comprising first and second beam engagement members, the first beam engagement member spaced from the second beam engagement member, each of the first and second beam engagement members configured to extend substantially across and to support the bracket assembly on a top end of a beam; and
a rotatable plate defining a plate engagement member engaging the stationary plate, the rotatable plate rotatable relative to the stationary plate at the plate engagement member, the rotatable plate defining a third beam engagement member;
wherein the third beam engagement member is configured to extend along a first side of the beam, and the first and second beam engagement members are configured to extend along a second side of the beam opposite the first side.

The bracket assembly of claim 1 , wherein the stationary plate defines a first end and a second end, the first beam engagement member and the second beam engagement member are disposed at the second end, and the plate engagement member of the rotatable plate engages the stationary plate between the first end and the first and second beam engagement members.
3 . The bracket assembly of claim 2 , wherein the plate engagement member comprises a projecting portion, the stationary plate defines an engagement opening, and the projecting portion extends through the engagement opening.
4 . The bracket assembly of claim 2 , wherein the stationary plate further comprises a hanger member defining a hanger opening, the hanger member disposed at the first end, the hanger opening configured to receive a bracket bar therethrough.
5 . The bracket assembly of claim 1 , wherein the third beam engagement member is disposed laterally between the first beam engagement member and the second beam engagement member.

The bracket assembly of claim 5 , wherein each of the first and second beam engagement members defines a first portion extending in a first direction and a second portion extending in a second direction different than the first direction, the first portion configured to extend across the top end of the beam, the second portion configured to extend along the second side of the beam.
7 . The bracket assembly of claim 6 , wherein each of the first and second beam engagement members further define a distal portion, the second portion disposed between the first portion and distal portion, the distal portion configured to extend inward towards the third beam engagement member below a rim of the beam.
8 . The bracket assembly of claim 7 , wherein the third beam engagement member defines a distal portion configured to extend inward towards the first and second beam engagement members below the rim of the beam.
9 . A bracket assembly comprising:
a stationary plate defining a first end and a second end, the stationary plate comprising a first beam engagement member and a second beam engagement member disposed proximate to the second end, the first beam engagement member spaced from the second beam engagement member, each of the first and second beam engagement members defining a first bent section; and
a rotatable plate defining a plate engagement member engaging the stationary plate between the first end and the second end, the rotatable plate rotatable relative to the stationary plate at the plate engagement member, the rotatable plate defining a first end and a second end, wherein a third beam engagement member is defined at the second end of the rotatable plate, the third beam engagement member defining a second bent section;
wherein the second bent section extends inwardly towards the first and second beam engagement members, and wherein each of the first bent sections extend inwardly towards the third beam engagement member.
10 . The bracket assembly of claim 9 , wherein the first bent sections are defined at a distal end of the first and second beam engagement members, and wherein the second bent section is defined at a distal end of the third beam engagement member.
11 . The bracket assembly of claim 10 , wherein the plate engagement member comprises a projecting portion, the stationary plate defines an engagement opening, and the projecting portion extends through the engagement opening.
12 . The bracket assembly of claim 10 , wherein the stationary plate further comprises a hanger member defining a hanger opening, the hanger member disposed at the first end, the hanger opening configured to receive a bracket bar therethrough.
13 . The bracket assembly of claim 10 , wherein the third beam engagement member is disposed laterally between the first beam engagement member and the second beam engagement member.
14 . The bracket assembly of claim 13 , wherein each of the first and second beam engagement members defines a first portion extending in a first direction and a second portion extending in a second direction different than the first direction, the first portion configured to extend across a top end of a beam, the second portion configured to extend along a second side of the beam.
15 . The bracket assembly of claim 14 , wherein each of the first and second beam engagement members further define a distal portion, the second portion disposed between the first portion and distal portion, the distal portion configured to extend inward towards the third beam engagement member below a rim of the beam.
16 . The bracket assembly of claim 15 , wherein the third beam engagement member defines a distal portion configured to extend inward towards the first and second beam engagement members below the rim of the beam.
17 . A bracket assembly comprising:
a first plate having a first end and a second end, the first plate defining a hanger member at the first end, the hanger member defining each of a bar opening and a first fastener opening formed therethrough, the bar opening configured to receive a bracket bar;
a second plate rotatable relative to the first plate; and
a lever assembly movably coupling the first plate to the second plate, the lever assembly comprising a lever and a rod, the rod extending through the first fastener opening of the hanger member and engaging the second plate.
18 . The bracket assembly of claim 17 , wherein the second plate defines a second fastener opening, and wherein the rod of the lever assembly extends through the second fastener opening.
19 . The bracket assembly of claim 17 , wherein the rod is oriented substantially parallel to the first plate.
20 . The bracket assembly of claim 19 , wherein the rod defines a first rod end and a second rod end, the first rod end disposed proximate to the first fastener opening, the lever pivotably coupled to the first end of the rod.
21 . The bracket assembly of claim 20 , wherein the lever is pivotable about and between a first position and a second position, and wherein, in the first position, the rod is raised in a direction parallel to the first plate, and in the second position, the rod is lowered in a direction parallel to the first plate.
22 . The bracket assembly of claim 21 , wherein the lever comprises a free end and a cam surface, the cam surface engaging a top wall of the hanger member, the free end of the lever pivotable relative to the first plate to rotate the rod.
23 . The bracket assembly of claim 22 , wherein a second beam engagement portion of the second plate is drawn away from a first beam engagement portion of the first plate when the rod is raised, and wherein the second beam engagement portion is biased towards the first beam engagement portion when the rod is lowered.
24 . A fire sprinkler support assembly comprising:
a first bracket assembly comprising a first stationary plate and a first rotatable plate rotatably engaging the first stationary plate, the first stationary plate defining a first hanger member, the first hanger member defining a first hanger opening formed therethrough;
a second bracket assembly comprising a second stationary plate and a second rotatable plate rotatably engaging the second stationary plate, the second stationary plate defining a second hanger member, the second hanger member defining a second hanger opening formed therethrough;
a bracket bar extending between the first bracket assembly and the second bracket assembly and engaging each of the first hanger opening and the second hanger opening; and
a sprinkler system mounted to the bracket bar.
