Abstract

Certain exemplary embodiments can provide a system, machine, device, and/or manufacture adapted for and/or resulting from, and/or a method configured for, activities that can comprise and/or relate to, installing a support system for a green wall, the support system comprising a plurality of trays that are configured to interface with a securement system.

Claims (45)

1 . A green wall system comprising a plurality of elongate trays, wherein:

the trays are configured to resist horizontal movement and downward movement of a plurality of elongate containers once the containers are installed in the trays, the containers configured to contain plant growing medium, the trays and containers operatively arrangeable to define a stacked plurality of substantially horizontally-extending courses;

each tray defines a substantially open-topped receptacle configured to receive at least a portion of a corresponding container from the plurality of elongate containers; and

a first tray from the plurality of elongate trays is configured to secure a corresponding elongated irrigation conduit that operatively extends substantially parallel to and between an inner bottom portion of the first tray and an bottom outer surface of the at least a portion of a corresponding container, the irrigation conduit having a generally annular longitudinal cross-section.

2 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising:

the plurality of elongate containers.

3 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising:

the plant growing medium.

4 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising:

the elongated irrigation conduit.

5 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising:

a plant growing in the plant growing medium located in a corresponding elongate container from the plurality of elongate containers.

6 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising:

a brace configured to vertically secure, within the first tray, the at least a portion of the corresponding container.

7 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising:

a brace that is configured to non-destructively removeably attach to the first tray and to secure, within the first tray, the at least a portion of the corresponding container.

8 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising:

a restrainer configured to resist movement of the irrigation conduit with respect to a corresponding tray from the plurality of elongate trays.

9 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising:

a securement system configured to secure the plurality of elongate trays to a wall.

10 . The system of claim 1 , wherein:

the first tray is configured to non-destructively removeably attach to a securement system.

11 . The system of claim 1 , wherein:

the first tray comprises a tray bottom portion that is substantially solid and comprises a plurality of ribs that are configured to retain a predetermined amount of water in the tray bottom portion.

12 . The system of claim 1 , wherein:

the first tray defines an aperture configured to prevent more than a predetermined volume of water from accumulating in the inner bottom portion of the first tray.

13 . The system of claim 1 , wherein:

the first tray defines an opposing pair of longitudinal ends and is substantially open at each of those longitudinal ends.

14 . The system of claim 1 , wherein:

the first tray is substantially semi-annular in a predetermined longitudinal cross-section.

15 . The system of claim 1 , wherein:

the first tray is configured to operatively allow plant roots to extend substantially downwards from the at least a portion of a corresponding container and below the first tray.

16 . The system of claim 1 , wherein:

the first tray is configured to operatively secure the corresponding irrigation conduit substantially below the at least a portion of the corresponding container.

17 . A green wall system comprising a plurality of elongate trays, wherein:

each tray from the plurality of elongate trays defines a substantially open-topped receptacle configured to receive and resist horizontal movement of, and downward movement of, a corresponding container from a plurality of elongate containers that are configured to contain plant growing medium and be arranged to define a stacked plurality of substantially horizontally-extending courses; and

a first tray from the plurality of elongate trays is configured to secure a corresponding elongated irrigation conduit that operatively extends between a bottom of the first tray and an outer surface of the corresponding container received by the first tray, the irrigation conduit having an annular longitudinal cross-section.

18 . A green wall assembly, comprising:

a plurality of elongate tubular mesh socks containing plant growing medium and arranged to define a stacked plurality of horizontally-extending courses;

a plurality of trays that receive, support, and resist horizontal movement of, and downward movement of, the plurality of socks; and

an elongated irrigation conduit having a substantially annular longitudinal cross-section, a position of the irrigation conduit constrained by a set of trays from the plurality of trays to extend parallel to and along a bottom of a selected course of the stacked plurality of horizontally-extending courses.

19 . The green wall assembly of claim 18 , further comprising:

a plurality of plants growing in the plant growing medium.

20 . The green wall assembly of claim 18 , further comprising:

a wall securement system to which each of the plurality of trays is non-destructively removeably secured via one or more corresponding tray support members.
