Abstract

An example operation includes determining a portion of a group of vehicles, the portion comprising at least one vehicle in the group with a battery capacity below a first threshold, where the first threshold is a battery capacity of one or more vehicles in a remaining portion of the group of vehicles; and halting a use of the portion of the group of vehicles until the battery capacity of the at least one vehicle in the halted portion of the group is around the battery capacity of the one or more vehicles in the remaining portion of the group of vehicles.

Claims (62)

1. A method, comprising:

determining a portion of a group of vehicles, the portion comprising at least one vehicle in the group with a battery capacity below a first threshold, where the first threshold is a battery capacity of one or more vehicles in a remaining portion of the group of vehicles; and

halting a use of the portion of the group of vehicles until the battery capacity of the at least one vehicle in the halted portion of the group is around the battery capacity of the one or more vehicles in the remaining portion of the group of vehicles.

2. The method of claim 1 , comprising:

sensing trip information comprising one or more of: a distance driven by at least one vehicle in the group of vehicles; a driving mode for the at least one vehicle in the group of vehicles; and/or a condition of a route taken by the at least one vehicle in the group of vehicles; and

determining a degradation in battery capacity for the at least one vehicle in the group of vehicles based on the sensed trip information.

3. The method of claim 1 , comprising determining the portion of the group of vehicles by:

determining an average battery capacity for the group of vehicles;

determining a deviation from the average battery capacity for each vehicle in the group of vehicles; and

identifying at least one vehicle in the group of vehicles having a negative deviation from the average battery capacity that exceeds a second threshold;

wherein the identified vehicle is assigned to the halted portion of the group.

4. The method of claim 1 , comprising sending a notification message to the at least one vehicle in the halted portion of the group, the notification message indicating that the at least one vehicle has a lower battery capacity than one or more vehicles in the remaining portion of vehicles, and/or indicating that a use of the at least one vehicle should be limited.

5. The method of claim 1 , comprising establishing the first threshold as a difference in battery capacity of one or more vehicles in the group compared to a number of vehicles in the group with a highest battery capacity.

6. The method of claim 1 , comprising:

configuring each respective vehicle in the group of vehicles with a corresponding battery; and

when the battery capacity of the at least one vehicle in the halted portion of the group is around the battery capacity of the one or more vehicles in the remaining portion of the group of vehicles, removing the corresponding battery from each respective vehicle of the group of vehicles.

7. The method of claim 1 , comprising:

setting the first threshold in response to receiving a first user input;

in response to determining that a respective battery capacity of each vehicle in the group of vehicles does not fall below the first threshold, providing a first notification message indicating that the first threshold can be increased;

in response to determining that the respective battery capacity of each vehicle in the group of vehicles falls below the first threshold, providing a second notification message indicating that the first threshold can be decreased;

adjusting the first threshold in response to receiving a second user input; and

in response to determining that a battery capacity of at least a first vehicle in the group of vehicles is above the adjusted first threshold, and a battery capacity of at least a second vehicle in the group of vehicles is below the adjusted first threshold, providing a third notification message.

8. A system, comprising:

a processor; and

a memory, wherein the processor and the memory are communicably coupled, wherein the processor:

determines a portion of a group of vehicles, wherein the portion comprises at least one vehicle in the group with a battery capacity below a first threshold, where the first threshold is a battery capacity of one or more vehicles in a remainder portion of the group of vehicles; and

halts a use of the portion of the group of vehicles until the battery capacity of the at least one vehicle in the halted portion of the group is around the battery capacity of the one or more vehicles in the remainder portion of the group of vehicles.

9. The system of claim 8 , wherein the processor:

senses trip information that comprises one or more of: a distance driven by at least one vehicle in the group of vehicles; a drive mode for the at least one vehicle in the group of vehicles; and/or a condition of a route taken by the at least one vehicle in the group of vehicles; and

determines a degradation in battery capacity for the at least one vehicle in the group of vehicles based on the sensed trip information.

10. The system of claim 8 , wherein the processor:

determines an average battery capacity for the group of vehicles;

determines a deviation from the average battery capacity for each vehicle in the group of vehicles; and

identifies at least one vehicle in the group of vehicles that has a negative deviation from the average battery capacity that exceeds a second threshold;

wherein the identified vehicle is assigned to the halted portion of the group.

11. The system of claim 8 , wherein the processor sends a notification message to the at least one vehicle in the halted portion of the group, and wherein the notification message indicates that the at least one vehicle has a lower battery capacity than one or more vehicles in the remainder portion of vehicles, and/or indicates that a use of the at least one vehicle should be limited.

12. The system of claim 8 , wherein the processor establishes the first threshold as a difference in battery capacity of one or more vehicles in the group compared to a number of vehicles in the group with a highest battery capacity.

13. The system of claim 8 , wherein the processor:

configures each respective vehicle in the group of vehicles with a correspondent battery; and

when the battery capacity of the at least one vehicle in the halted portion of the group is around the battery capacity of the one or more vehicles in the remainder portion of the group of vehicles, remove the correspondent battery from each respective vehicle of the group of vehicles.

14. The system of claim 8 , wherein the processor:

sets the first threshold in response to a receipt of a first user input;

in response to a determination that a respective battery capacity of each vehicle in the group of vehicles does not fall below the first threshold, provides a first notification message indicative that the first threshold can be increased;

in response to a determination that the respective battery capacity of each vehicle in the group of vehicles falls below the first threshold, provides a second notification message indicative that the first threshold can be decreased;

adjusts the first threshold in response to a receipt of a second user input; and

in response to a determination that a battery capacity of at least a first vehicle in the group of vehicles is above the adjusted first threshold, and a battery capacity of at least a second vehicle in the group of vehicles is below the adjusted first threshold, provides a third notification message.

15. A computer-readable storage medium comprising instructions that, when read by a processor, cause the processor to perform:

determining a portion of a group of vehicles, the portion comprising at least one vehicle in the group with a battery capacity below a first threshold, where the first threshold is a battery capacity of one or more vehicles in a remaining portion of the group of vehicles; and

halting a use of the portion of the group of vehicles until the battery capacity of the at least one vehicle in the halted portion of the group is around the battery capacity of the one or more vehicles in the remaining portion of the group of vehicles.

16. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 15 , further comprising instructions for:

sensing trip information comprising one or more of: a distance driven by at least one vehicle in the group of vehicles; a driving mode for the at least one vehicle in the group of vehicles; and/or a condition of a route taken by the at least one vehicle in the group of vehicles; and

determining a degradation in battery capacity for the at least one vehicle in the group of vehicles based on the sensed trip information.

17. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 15 , further comprising instructions for:

determining an average battery capacity for the group of vehicles;

determining a deviation from the average battery capacity for each vehicle in the group of vehicles; and

identifying at least one vehicle in the group of vehicles having a negative deviation from the average battery capacity that exceeds a second threshold;

wherein the identified vehicle is assigned to the halted portion of the group.

18. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 15 , further comprising instructions for sending a notification message to the at least one vehicle in the halted portion of the group, the notification message indicating that the at least one vehicle has a lower battery capacity than one or more vehicles in the remaining portion of vehicles, and/or indicating that a use of the at least one vehicle should be limited.

19. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 15 , further comprising instructions for establishing the first threshold as a difference in battery capacity of one or more vehicles in the group compared to a number of vehicles in the group with a highest battery capacity.
