Abstract

A cable fixation structure for fixing at least a portion of a fiber optic cable to a telecommunications fixture against strain relief includes a cable bracket portion and a base portion, wherein the cable bracket portion is configured for fixing the at least a portion of the fiber optic cable and the base is configured for routing fibers extending from the fiber optic cable, wherein the cable bracket portion is provided at an acute angle with respect to a vertical plane passing through a longitudinal axis defined by the base portion.

Claims (16)

1 . A cable fixation structure for fixing at least a portion of a fiber optic cable to a telecommunications fixture against strain relief, the structure comprising:

a cable bracket portion and a base portion, wherein the cable bracket portion is configured for fixing the at least a portion of the fiber optic cable and the base is configured for routing fibers extending from the fiber optic cable, wherein the cable bracket portion is provided at an acute angle with respect to a vertical plane passing through a longitudinal axis defined by the base portion, wherein the cable bracket portion defines at least a part of a strength member fixation assembly for fixing a strength member of the fiber optic cable to the cable bracket portion, the strength member fixation assembly further defining a removable clamp structure mounted the cable bracket portion.

2 . The cable fixation structure of claim 1 , wherein the cable bracket portion is integrally formed with the base portion in a fixed configuration.

3 . The cable fixation structure of claim 1 , wherein the cable bracket portion is also provided at an acute angle with respect to a horizontal plane passing through the longitudinal axis defined by the base portion.

4 . The cable fixation structure of claim 3 , wherein the cable bracket portion is removable from the base portion and is mountable in a plurality of different orientations with respect to the base portion.

5 . The cable fixation structure of claim 4 , wherein the cable bracket portion and the base portion define snap-fit interlock structures for removable mounting of the cable bracket portion.

6 . The cable fixation structure of claim 5 , wherein the cable bracket portion is mountable in at least two different orientations with respect to the base portion.

7 . The cable fixation structure of claim 6 , wherein a first of the at least two different orientations forms a negative acute angle with the horizontal plane and a second of the at least two different orientations forms a positive acute angle with the horizontal plane.

8 . The cable fixation structure of claim 1 , wherein the cable bracket portion defines at least a part of a hinge structure with the base portion to allow rotation of the cable bracket portion along an axis parallel to the longitudinal axis defined by the base portion.

9 . The cable fixation structure of claim 8 , wherein the cable bracket portion is rotatable with respect to the base portion from a negative acute angle with respect to a horizontal plane passing through the longitudinal axis defined by the base portion and a positive acute angle with respect to the horizontal plane.

10 . The cable fixation structure of claim 1 , wherein the base portion includes tube holders for frictionally holding fiber carrying tubes extending from the cable.

11 . The cable fixation structure of claim 10 , wherein the tube holders are removable inserts.

12 . The cable fixation structure of claim 1 , wherein the base portion defines radius limiting cable management structures for routing fibers extending from the fiber optic cable.

13 . The cable fixation structure of claim 1 , wherein the cable bracket portion includes grip features for fixing an outer jacket of the cable.

14 . The cable fixation structure of claim 13 , wherein the grip features are provided by a removably mounted insert.

15 . The cable fixation structure of claim 1 , wherein the base portion includes a removable cover for protecting fibers extending from the fiber optic cable.
