Abstract

A polarizing plate and an optical display apparatus including the same are provided. A polarizing plate includes: a polarizer; and a protective layer on at least one surface of the polarizer, and the polarizing plate includes a first region and a second region having a lower light transmittance than the first region and has a moisture content of 2.0 g/m 2 or less.

Claims (11)

1 . A polarizing plate comprising: a polarizer; and a protective layer on at least one surface of the polarizer,

wherein the polarizing plate comprises a first region and a second region having a lower light transmittance than the first region, and the polarizing plate has a moisture content of 2.0 g/m 2 or less, the first region performs an external image-photographing function through an image sensor while performing an image display function as in the second region, and

wherein the first region has a degree of polarization of 25% to 80%, and the second region has a degree of polarization of 90% or more.

2 . An optical display apparatus comprising the polarizing plate according to claim 1 .

3 . The polarizing plate according to claim 1 , wherein each of the first region and the second region has a moisture content of 2.0 g/m 2 or less.

4 . An optical display apparatus comprising the polarizing plate according to claim 3 .

5 . The polarizing plate according to claim 1 , wherein the first region has a light transmittance of 50% to 80%, and the second region has a light transmittance of 40% to less than 50%.

6 . An optical display apparatus comprising the polarizing plate according to claim 5 .

7 . The polarizing plate according to claim 1 , wherein the first region of the polarizer is formed through femtosecond laser irradiation.

8 . The polarizing plate according to claim 1 , wherein the thickness of the polarizer in the first region is 3 μm to 30 μm.

9 . The polarizing plate according to claim 1 , wherein the first region has a circular or polygonal shape.
