SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CAPTURING ACCOUNT HOLDER CONSENT FOR TRANSACTION DATA COLLECTION
Systems and methods are disclosed for providing an account holder with an incentive-consent matrix at a point-of-sale device of a merchant. The account holder can provide consent to store transaction related data and obtain an incentive in exchange. The incentive out be a coupon or other offering associated with the merchant. Varying levels of consent can be offered, with each level associated with an incentive having a different relative value. The transaction data can subsequently be provided to a recipient in accordance with the consent received from the account holder.
1 . A computer-implemented method, comprising:
receiving, at one or more computing devices associated with an acquirer processor, an indication of an electronic payment transaction occurring at a point of sale (POS) device;
transmitting, responsive to the receiving and by the one or more computing devices, instructions to the POS device to facilitate an interactive transaction data consent procurement process, wherein the interactive transaction data consent procurement process is presented in a staged format;
identifying, upon conclusion of the interactive transaction data consent procurement process and by the one or more computing devices, an incentive to offer an account holder facilitating the electronic payment transaction; and
storing, in a database and by the one or more computing devices, transaction data associated with the electronic payment transaction based on a scope of consent for the transaction data identified during the transaction data consent procurement process.
2 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein a magnitude of the incentive offered is directly proportional to the scope of consent for the transaction data.

The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the scope of consent defines at least one of: a duration of the consent, an amount of the transaction data accessible by an inquiring recipient, a number of entities authorized to access the transaction data, and a type of entity authorized to access the transaction data.
4 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the incentive is one of: a merchant-specific incentive or a merchant agnostic incentive.
5 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the staged format of the interactive transaction data consent procurement process comprises:
presenting, on a display of the POS device, a first stage of an incentive-consent matrix, wherein the first stage provides: an indication of a first consent parameter, a plurality of consent levels for the first consent parameter, and a query requesting selection of one of the plurality of consent levels;
presenting, subsequent to detecting a selection of one of the plurality of consent levels for the first consent parameter, at least a second stage of the incentive-consent matrix, wherein the at least the second stage provides: another indication of another consent parameter, another plurality of consent levels for the another consent parameter; and another query requesting selection of one of the another plurality of consent levels; and
identifying, subsequent to completion of the first stage and the at least the second stage, the incentive to offer the account holder and the scope of consent for the transaction data.
6 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising automatically reducing a cost associated with the electronic payment transaction via application of the incentive.
7 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising:
receiving, at the one or more computing devices, a request to view the transaction data from an entity; and
providing, to the entity and by using the one or more computing devices, a portal comprising a visual dashboard displaying the transaction data according to the scope of consent.
8 . An acquirer computing system, comprising:
one or more processors;
a non-transitory computer readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform a method comprising:
receiving, at one or more computing devices associated with an acquirer processor, an indication of an electronic payment transaction occurring at a point of sale (POS) device;
transmitting, responsive to the receiving and by the one or more computing devices, instructions to the POS device to facilitate an interactive transaction data consent procurement process, wherein the interactive transaction data consent procurement process is presented in a staged format;
identifying, upon conclusion of the interactive transaction data consent procurement process and by the one or more computing devices, an incentive to offer an account holder facilitating the electronic payment transaction; and
storing, in a database and by the one or more computing devices, transaction data associated with the electronic payment transaction based on a scope of consent for the transaction data identified during the transaction data consent procurement process.
9 . The acquirer computing system of claim 8 , wherein a magnitude of the incentive offered is directly proportional to the scope of consent for the transaction data.

The acquirer computing system of claim 8 , wherein the scope of consent defines at least one of: a duration of the consent, an amount of the transaction data accessible by an inquiring recipient, a number of entities authorized to access the transaction data, and a type of entity authorized to access the transaction data.
11 . The acquirer computing system of claim 8 , wherein the incentive is one of: a merchant-specific incentive or a merchant agnostic incentive.
12 . The acquirer computing system of claim 8 , wherein the staged format of the interactive transaction data consent procurement process comprises:
presenting, on a display of the POS device, a first stage of an incentive-consent matrix, wherein the first stage provides: an indication of a first consent parameter, a plurality of consent levels for the first consent parameter, and a query requesting selection of one of the plurality of consent levels;
presenting, subsequent to detecting a selection of one of the plurality of consent levels for the first consent parameter, at least a second stage of the incentive-consent matrix, wherein the at least the second stage provides: another indication of another consent parameter, another plurality of consent levels for the another consent parameter; and another query requesting selection of one of the another plurality of consent levels; and
identifying, subsequent to completion of the first stage and the at least the second stage, the incentive to offer the account holder and the scope of consent for the transaction data.
13 . The acquirer computing system of claim 8 , wherein the instructions are further executable by the processor for:
automatically reducing a cost associated with the electronic payment transaction via application of the incentive.
14 . The acquirer computing system of claim 8 , wherein the instructions are further executable by the processor for:
receiving, at the one or more computing devices, a request to view the transaction data from an entity; and
providing, to the entity and by using the one or more computing devices, a portal comprising a visual dashboard displaying the transaction data according to the scope of consent.
15 . A non-transitory computer readable medium having instructions stored thereon which when executed by a processor cause the processor to:
receive, at one or more computing devices associated with an acquirer processor, an indication of an electronic payment transaction occurring at a point of sale (POS) device;
transmit, responsive to the receiving and by the one or more computing devices, instructions to the POS device to facilitate an interactive transaction data consent procurement process, wherein the interactive transaction data consent procurement process is presented in a staged format;
identify, upon conclusion of the interactive transaction data consent procurement process and by the one or more computing devices, an incentive to offer an account holder facilitating the electronic payment transaction; and
store, in a database and by the one or more computing devices, transaction data associated with the electronic payment transaction based on a scope of consent for the transaction data identified during the transaction data consent procurement process.
16 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 15 , wherein a magnitude of the incentive offered is directly proportional to the scope of consent for the transaction data.

The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the scope of consent defines at least one of: a duration of the consent, an amount of the transaction data accessible by an inquiring recipient, a number of entities authorized to access the transaction data, and a type of entity authorized to access the transaction data.
18 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the staged format of the interactive transaction data consent procurement process comprises:
presenting, on a display of the POS device, a first stage of an incentive-consent matrix, wherein the first stage provides: an indication of a first consent parameter, a plurality of consent levels for the first consent parameter, and a query requesting selection of one of the plurality of consent levels;
presenting, subsequent to detecting a selection of one of the plurality of consent levels for the first consent parameter, at least a second stage of the incentive-consent matrix, wherein the at least the second stage provides: another indication of another consent parameter, another plurality of consent levels for the another consent parameter; and another query requesting selection of one of the another plurality of consent levels; and
identifying, subsequent to completion of the first stage and the at least the second stage, the incentive to offer the account holder and the scope of consent for the transaction data.
19 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 15 , comprising further instructions stored thereon which when executed by a processor cause the processor to:
automatically reduce a cost associated with the electronic payment transaction via application of the incentive.
20 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 15 , comprising further instructions stored thereon which when executed by a processor cause the processor to:
receive, at the one or more computing devices, a request to view the transaction data from an entity; and
provide, to the entity and by using the one or more computing devices, a portal comprising a visual dashboard displaying the transaction data according to the scope of consent.
