2. The method as defined in claim 1 , wherein the personal relationship is a friend on a social media site, a subscription to a social media site, or a following on a social media site.
3. The method as defined in claim 2 , wherein the first visual representation and the second visual representation are in different layers of the pile view.
4. The method as defined in claim 3 , wherein the first visual indicium is a horizontal placement of a thumbnail, representing the first poster, in the pile view.
5. The method as defined in claim 4 , wherein a thumbnail closer to a centerline of the pile view has a closer personal relationship to the user of the intelligent television.
6. The method as defined in claim 5 , wherein the first visual indicium is a vertical placement of a thumbnail, representing the first poster, in the pile view.
7. The method as defined in claim 6 , wherein a vertical placement nearer a top of the pile view has a closer personal relationship to the user of the intelligent television.
8. The method as defined in claim 6 wherein a third visual indicium for the first visual representation is a size of the thumbnail in the pile view.
9. The method as defined in claim 8 , wherein a poster represented by a larger thumbnail has more importance on the social media site.
10. The method as defined in claim 1 , wherein a location of a thumbnail in a user interface of the intelligent television indicates a poster has a closer personal relationship to the user of the intelligent television.
11. The method as defined in claim 1 , wherein the first poster has a closer personal relationship to the user of the intelligent television than a second personal relationship to the user of the intelligent television.
12. An intelligent television system comprising:
a memory operable to store social media data;
a processor in communication with the memory, the processor operable to:
execute a social media application operable to receive two or more social media postings; and
execute a user interface application in communication with the social media application, the user interface application operable to:
provide a first visual representation of a first poster for a first social media posting;
in the first visual representation, provide a first visual indicium for a first poster, wherein the first visual indicium is associated with a first placement of the first visual representation, wherein the first visual indicium indicates a first personal relationship between the first poster and a user of the intelligent television system;
provide a second visual representation of a second poster for a second social media posting;
in the second visual representation, provide a second visual indicium for the second poster, wherein the second visual indicium is associated with a second placement of the second visual representation, wherein the second visual indicium indicates a second personal relationship between the second poster and the user of the intelligent television system, and wherein the first visual indicium and second visual indicium are different; and
present the first visual indicium and the second visual indicium in a pile view of social media posters, wherein the pile view includes two or more layers arranged vertically in the pile view, and wherein each of the two or more layers include two or more visual representations of posters presented horizontally, wherein a top layer in the pile view has fewer visual representations than a bottom layer.
13. The intelligent television system as defined in claim 12 , wherein the first personal relationship is a friend on a social media site, a subscription to a social media site, or a following on a social media site, and wherein the first poster has a closer personal relationship to the user of the intelligent television system than a second personal relationship to the user of the intelligent television system.
14. The intelligent television system as defined in claim 13 , wherein the first visual representation and second visual representation are organized in different positions horizontally in a same layer of the pile view.
15. The intelligent television system as defined in claim 14 , wherein the first visual indicium is one or more of:
a horizontal placement of a thumbnail, representing the first poster, in the pile view, wherein a thumbnail closer to a centerline of the pile view has a closer personal relationship to the user of the intelligent television system;
a vertical placement of a thumbnail, representing the first poster, in the pile view, wherein a vertical placement nearer a top of the pile view has a closer personal relationship to the user of the intelligent television system; and
a size of the thumbnail in the pile view, wherein a poster represented by a larger thumbnail has more importance on the social media site.
