Abstract

Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE), Generation Node-B (gNB) and methods of communication are disclosed herein. The UE may attempt to decode sidelink synchronization signals (SLSSs) received on component carriers (CCs) of a carrier aggregation. In one configuration, synchronization resources for SLSS transmissions may be aligned across the CCs at subframe boundaries in time, restricted to a portion of the CCs, and restricted to a same sub-frame. The UE may, for multiple CCs, determine a priority level for the CC based on indicators in the SLSSs received on the CC. The UE may select, from the CCs on which one or more SLSSs are decoded, the CC for which the determined priority level is highest. The UE may determine a reference timing for sidelink communication based on the one or more SLSSs received on the selected CC.

Claims (48)

1. An apparatus comprising:

memory; and

processing circuitry in communication with the memory, wherein the processing circuitry is configured to:

determine a pre-emption of time-frequency resources for transmission of low latency traffic; and

transmit control signaling that indicates the pre-emption of time-frequency resources via a 14 bit bitmap corresponding to 14 resource units, wherein the bits of the bitmap are mapped consecutively according to a frequency-first mapping, wherein each bit of the bitmap indicates whether or not a corresponding resource is pre-empted, and wherein indexes of frequency partitions increase with an increase of bit index in the bitmap and reset every two bits with increasing time domain index.

2. The apparatus of claim 1 ,

wherein the 14 resource units are divided into 7 time intervals and 2 frequency intervals.

3. The apparatus of claim 1 ,

wherein mapping of the bits to the corresponding resource units is from most significant bit to least significant bit.

4. The apparatus of claim 1 ,

wherein a bit value of 1 indicates that the corresponding resource is pre-empted.

5. The apparatus of claim 1 ,

wherein a bit value of 0 indicates that the corresponding resource is not pre-empted.

6. The apparatus of claim 1 ,

wherein a total number of physical resource blocks (PRBs) in an active downlink bandwidth part are divided equally into a first frequency partition and a second frequency partition.

7. The apparatus of claim 6 ,

wherein the first frequency partition includes floor (B/2) PRBs and the second frequency partition includes remaining PRBs given by [B-floor (B/2)], and wherein B is the total number of PRBs.

8. The apparatus of claim 6 ,

wherein the first frequency partition includes ceiling (B/2) PRBs and the second frequency partition includes remaining PRBs given by [B-ceiling (B/2)], wherein B is the total number of PRBs.

9. A method for indicating pre-emption of time-frequency resources for transmission of low latency traffic, comprising:

a base station,

determining a pre-emption of time-frequency resources for transmission of low latency traffic; and

transmitting control signaling that indicates the pre-emption of time-frequency resources via a 14 bit bitmap corresponding to 14 resource units, wherein the bits of the bitmap are mapped consecutively according to a frequency-first mapping, wherein each bit of the bitmap indicates whether or not a corresponding resource is pre-empted, and wherein indexes of frequency partitions increase with an increase of bit index in the bitmap and reset every two bits with increasing time domain index.

10. The method of claim 9 ,

wherein the 14 resource units are divided into 7 time intervals and 2 frequency intervals.

11. The method of claim 9 ,

wherein at least part of the pre-empted time-frequency resources are used for transmission of the low latency traffic.

12. The method of claim 9 ,

wherein a bit value of 1 indicates that the corresponding resource is pre-empted, and wherein a bit value of 0 indicates that the corresponding resource is not pre-empted.

13. The method of claim 9 ,

wherein indexes of frequency partitions increase with an increase of bit index in the bitmap and reset every two bits with increasing time domain index.

14. The method of claim 9 ,

wherein a total number of physical resource blocks (PRBs) in an active downlink bandwidth part are divided equally into a first frequency partition and a second frequency partition.

15. The method of claim 9 ,

wherein the 14 bit bitmap is in included in a group common downlink control information.

16. A user equipment (UE) comprising:

a transceiver to receive one or more component carriers (CCs);

one or more antennas coupled to the transceiver; and

processing circuitry in communication with the transceiver and configured to perform operations including:

decode control signaling that indicates a pre-emption of time-frequency resources via a 14 bit bitmap corresponding to 14 resource units, wherein the bits of the bitmap are mapped consecutively according to a frequency-first mapping, wherein each bit of the bitmap indicates whether or not a corresponding resource is pre-empted, and wherein indexes of frequency partitions increase with an increase of bit index in the bitmap and reset every two bits with increasing time domain index.

17. The UE of claim 16 ,

wherein the 14 resource units are divided into 7 time intervals and 2 frequency intervals, wherein a bit value of 1 indicates that the corresponding resource is pre-empted, and wherein a bit value of 0 indicates that the corresponding resource is not pre-empted.

18. The UE of claim 16 ,

wherein the 14 bit bitmap is in included in a group common downlink control information.

19. The UE of claim 16 ,

wherein the first frequency partition includes floor (B/2) PRBs and the second frequency partition includes remaining PRBs given by [B-floor (B/2)], and wherein B is the total number of PRBs.
