Abstract

Systems and methods are described for using a template for simulated phishing campaigns based on predetermined date from a date associated with a user. The predetermined date may by an event, an anniversary or a milestone associated with employment of the user with a company. The campaign controller may identify a date associated with the user and based on the identification of the date associated with the user, the campaign controller may select one or more templates for one or more simulated phishing campaigns to be triggered by a predetermined date related to the date associated with the user.

Claims (29)

1. A method comprising:

identifying, by a computing device, a date associated with a user being added to a directory service;

determining, by the computing device, a subsequent date that the user is required to change a password, the subsequent date based at least on the date the user was added to the directory service;

identifying, by the computing device based at least on the subsequent date, a template for communicating a simulated phishing communication to prompt the user to change the password; and

communicating, by the computing device responsive to the subsequent date, to a device of the user the simulated phishing communication based at least on the template.

2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising identifying the date responsive to the user being added to the directory service.

3. The method of claim 1 , further comprising retrieving the date from the directory service.

4. The method of claim 1 , further comprising identifying the date from one of an email, an electronic calendar or a human resources system.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the date is a start date or hire date of the user as an employee of a company.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the date is an anniversary date of the user being identified as an employee of a company.

7. The method of claim 1 , further comprising selecting, by the computing device, the template from a plurality of templates based at least on the subsequent date.

8. The method of claim 1 , further comprising selecting, by the computing device, the template from a plurality of templates based at least on one of one or more attributes of the user.

9. The method of claim 1 , further comprising selecting, by the computing device, the template from a plurality of templates based at least on one of one or more attributes of a company of the user.

10. The method of claim 1 , further comprising generating, by the computing device, the simulated phishing communication using the template.

11. A system comprising:

one or more processors, coupled to memory, configured to:

identify a date associated with a user being added to a directory service;

determine a subsequent date that the user is required to change a password, the subsequent date based at least on the date the user was added to the directory service;

identify, based at least on the subsequent date for the user, a template for communicating a simulated phishing communication to prompt the user to change their password; and

communicate, responsive to the subsequent date, to a device of the user the simulated phishing communication based at least on the template.

12. The system of claim 11 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to identify the date responsive to the user being added to the directory service.

13. The system of claim 11 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to retrieve the date from the directory service.

14. The system of claim 11 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to identify the date from one of an email, an electronic calendar or a human resources system.

15. The system of claim 11 , wherein the date is a start date or hire date of the user as an employee of a company.

16. The system of claim 11 , wherein the date is an anniversary date of the user being identified as an employee of a company.

17. The system of claim 11 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to select the template from a plurality of templates based at least on the subsequent date.

18. The system of claim 11 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to select the template from a plurality of templates based at least on one of one or more attributes of the user.

19. The system of claim 11 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to select the template from a plurality of templates based at least on one of one or more attributes of a company of the user.

20. The system of claim 11 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to generate the simulated phishing communication using the template.
