ENTERTAINMENT DEVICE FOR PROMOTING GAMMA OSCILATIONS
The present disclosure describes a method for neuromodulating a subject, comprising providing (i) a cognitively engaging content, and (ii) a gamma oscillation inducing waveform, wherein said gamma oscillation inducing waveform: comprises an intensity that renders said gamma oscillation inducing waveform imperceptible to said subject; and causes a therapeutic improvement in a cognitive function, thereby neuromodulating said subject.
.- 32 . (canceled)
. A device for neuromodulating a subject, said device comprising:
(a) a display device configured to provide a cognitively engaging content;
(b) a stimulation source operatively coupled to said display device, said stimulation source configured to emit a waveform repeating at a frequency that causes an increase in gamma oscillations, wherein said waveform is displayed in association with said cognitively engaging content.
. The device of claim 33 , wherein said stimulation source forms at least a portion of a perimeter surrounding the cognitively engaging content.
. The device of claim 33 , wherein said stimulation source is configured to be mounted on or near said display device.
. The device of claim 33 , wherein said stimulation source is configured to be wearable by said subject.
. The device of claim 33 , wherein said stimulation source further comprises a filter, wherein said filter displays said waveform by blocking out other waveforms, said other waveforms comprising those which do not repeat at said frequency that causes an increase in gamma oscillations.
. The device of claim 33 , wherein said stimulation source forms at least a portion of said display device.
. The device of claim 33 , wherein said stimulation source comprises at least a portion made of a transparent material.
. The device of claim 33 , wherein said stimulation source is configured to display said waveform for a duration of at least about 1 second.
. The device of claim 33 , wherein said stimulation source is configured to display said waveform for a duration of at least about 1 minute.
. The device of claim 33 , wherein said stimulation source is configured to display said waveform for a duration of at least about 1 hour.
. The device of claim 33 , wherein said waveform is imperceptible said subject.
. The device of claim 33 , wherein said cognitively engaging content comprises at least one of: a picture, a video, a game, a writing, or a song.
. The device of claim 33 , wherein said device comprises a refresh rate between about 55 Hz and 65 Hz.
. The device of claim 33 , wherein said device comprises a refresh rate between about 115 Hz and 125 Hz.
. The device of claim 33 , wherein said device comprises a refresh rate between about 175 Hz and 185 Hz.
. A device for entraining gamma oscillation in at least one brain region of a subject, wherein said device comprises a filter, said filter capable of masking one or more waveforms of a sensory stimulus, wherein said masking causes a subject to perceive a gamma oscillation inducing waveform, said gamma oscillation inducing waveform having a frequency that promotes entrainment of gamma oscillations in a brain region.
. The device of claim 48 , wherein said filter is configured to be wearable by said subject.
. The device of claim 48 , wherein said filter forms at least a portion of a display.
. The device of claim 48 , wherein said filter comprises at least a portion made of a transparent material.
. The device of claim 48 , wherein said gamma oscillation inducing waveform is imperceptible said subject.
