Abstract

A light-emitting device includes: a base portion; a plurality of light-emitting elements disposed on an upper surface of the base portion, the plurality of light-emitting elements including: a first light-emitting element configured to emit first light from a first emitting surface, and a second light-emitting element configured to emit second light from a second emitting surface; and one or more reflective members disposed on the upper surface of the base portion and configured to reflect upward the first light and the second light. The one or more reflective members include: a first reflective surface configured to reflect the first light, a second reflective surface configured to reflect upward the first light that has been reflected at the first reflective surface, and a third reflective surface configured to reflect the second light.

Claims (50)

1 . A light-emitting device, comprising:

a base portion;

a plurality of light-emitting elements disposed on an upper surface of the base portion, the plurality of light-emitting elements including:

a first light-emitting element configured to emit first light from a first emitting surface, and

a second light-emitting element configured to emit second light from a second emitting surface; and

one or more reflective members disposed on the upper surface of the base portion and configured to reflect upward the first light and the second light; wherein:

the one or more reflective members include:

a first reflective surface configured to reflect the first light,

a second reflective surface configured to reflect upward the first light that has been reflected at the first reflective surface, and

a third reflective surface configured to reflect the second light;

the first light that is emitted from the first emitting surface and advances toward the first reflective surface includes light that advances in a first direction parallel with the upper surface of the base portion; and

the first light that is reflected at the first reflective surface and advances toward the second reflective surface includes light that advances in a second direction parallel with the upper surface of the base portion and perpendicular to the first direction.

2 . The light-emitting device according to claim 1 , wherein:

the first direction is perpendicular to the first emitting surface.

3 . The light-emitting device according to claim 1 , wherein:

in a top view, the first reflective surface is disposed at a position through which a first straight line passes, the first straight line being an imaginary line that extends through the first emitting surface and is perpendicular to the first emitting surface; and

in a top view, the second reflective surface is not disposed at a position through which the first straight line passes.

4 . The light-emitting device according to claim 3 , wherein:

in the top view, the second reflective surface is disposed between the first straight line and a second straight line, the second straight line being an imaginary line that extends through the second emitting surface and is perpendicular to the second emitting surface.

5 . The light-emitting device according to claim 1 , wherein:

the one or more reflective members include a first reflective member that includes the second reflective surface and the third reflective surface.

6 . The light-emitting device according to claim 1 , further comprising:

a frame portion including an inner lateral surface that surrounds at least a portion of the upper surface of the base portion and extends upward further than the upper surface; wherein:

the frame portion includes a wiring region along two sides extending in the first direction, the wiring region being a region where a plurality of wirings connected to the plurality of light-emitting elements are joined.

7 . The light-emitting device according to claim 6 , wherein:

the frame portion further includes one or more stepped portions connected along the two sides; and

an upper surface of the one or more stepped portions includes the wiring region.

8 . The light-emitting device according to claim 1 , wherein:

the one or more reflective members include a fourth reflective surface that reflects upward light that has been reflected at the third reflective surface;

the second light that is emitted from the second emitting surface and advances toward the third reflective surface includes light that advances in the first direction; and

the second light that is reflected at the third reflective surface and advances toward the fourth reflective surface includes light that advances in the second direction.

9 . The light-emitting device according to claim 8 , further comprising:

a lid member disposed above the plurality of light-emitting elements and the one or more plurality of reflective members; wherein:

the lid member includes a light-transmitting surface through which the first light and the second light reflected upward by the one or more reflective members pass; and

at the light-transmitting surface, a length of the first light in the first direction is less than a length of the first light in the second direction.

10 . The light-emitting device according to claim 9 , wherein:

the first light that is emitted from the first emitting surface and advances toward the first reflective surface is shorter in length in the second direction than in a direction perpendicular to the upper surface of the base portion.

11 . The light-emitting device according to claim 9 , wherein:

at the light-transmitting surface, a length of the second light in the first direction is less than a length of the second light in the second direction; and

at the light-transmitting surface, the first light and the second light are aligned in a straight line in the second direction.

12 . The light-emitting device according to claim 1 , wherein:

the plurality of light-emitting elements further include a third light-emitting element configured to emit a third light from a third emitting surface.

13 . The light-emitting device according to claim 12 , wherein:

the first light-emitting element, the second light-emitting element, and the third light-emitting element are configured to emit red light, blue light, and green light, respectively.

14 . The light-emitting device according to claim 1 , wherein:

the plurality of light-emitting elements are semiconductor laser elements.

15 . A light-emitting module, comprising:

the light-emitting device according to claim 1 ; and

a light guide plate disposed above the light-emitting device; wherein:

light emitted from the light-emitting device is emitted to the light guide plate.
