Abstract

A method and a user equipment (UE) for logical channel (LCH) configuration in small data transmission (SDT) are provided. The method includes: receiving, from a base station (BS), a radio resource control (RRC) release message; determining whether the RRC release message includes a specific configuration, the specific configuration including an SDT configuration and an SDT-specific LCH configuration; transitioning to an RRC_INACTIVE state after determining that the RRC release message includes the specific configuration; initiating an SDT procedure based on the SDT configuration when the UE is in the RRC_INACTIVE state; and applying at least one LCH restriction parameter included in the SDT-specific LCH configuration for a Logical Channel Prioritization (LCP) procedure during the SDT procedure.

Claims (38)

1. A method performed by a user equipment (UE) for logical channel (LCH) configuration in small data transmission (SDT), the method comprising:

receiving, from a base station (BS), a radio resource control (RRC) release message;

determining whether the RRC release message includes a specific configuration, the specific configuration including an SDT configuration and an SDT-specific LCH configuration;

transitioning to an RRC_INACTIVE state after determining that the RRC release message includes the specific configuration;

initiating an SDT procedure based on the SDT configuration when the UE is in the RRC_INACTIVE state; and

applying at least one LCH restriction parameter included in the SDT-specific LCH configuration for performing a Logical Channel Prioritization (LCP) procedure during the SDT procedure, wherein:

the SDT-specific LCH configuration is included in a configured grant (CG)-SDT-specific configuration, and

the CG-SDT-specific configuration is included in the SDT configuration.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least one LCH restriction parameter includes an information element (IE) configuredGrantType 1 Allowed.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least one LCH restriction parameter includes an information element (IE) allowedCG-List.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the SDT-specific LCH configuration is used for a CG-SDT.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the SDT procedure is a CG-SDT procedure.

6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

performing the LCP procedure when a new transmission is performed during the SDT procedure.

7. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

selecting an LCH for an uplink (UL) grant based on the at least one LCH restriction parameter when a new transmission is performed during the LCP procedure.

8. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

transitioning to an RRC_IDLE state after determining that the RRC release message does not include the specific configuration.

9. A user equipment (UE) for logical channel (LCH) configuration in small data transmission (SDT), the UE comprising:

at least one processor; and

at least one non-transitory computer-readable medium coupled to the at least one processor and storing one or more computer-executable instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the UE to:

receive, from a base station (BS), a radio resource control (RRC) release message;

determine whether the RRC release message includes a specific configuration, the specific configuration including an SDT configuration and an SDT-specific LCH configuration;

transition to an RRC_INACTIVE state after determining that the RRC release message includes the specific configuration;

initiate an SDT procedure based on the SDT configuration when the UE is in the RRC_INACTIVE state; and

apply at least one LCH restriction parameter included in the SDT-specific LCH configuration for performing a Logical Channel Prioritization (LCP) procedure during the SDT procedure, wherein:

the SDT-specific LCH configuration is included in a configured grant (CG)-SDT-specific configuration, and

the CG-SDT-specific configuration is included in the SDT configuration.

10. The UE of claim 9 , wherein the at least one LCH restriction parameter includes an information element (IE) configuredGrantType 1 Allowed.

11. The UE of claim 9 , wherein the at least one LCH restriction parameter includes an information element (IE) allowedCG-List.

12. The UE of claim 9 , wherein the SDT-specific LCH configuration is used for a CG-SDT.

13. The UE of claim 9 , wherein the SDT procedure is a CG-SDT procedure.

14. The UE of claim 9 , wherein the one or more computer-executable instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, further cause the UE to:

perform the LCP procedure when a new transmission is performed during the SDT procedure.

15. The UE of claim 9 , wherein the one or more computer-executable instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, further cause the UE to:

select an LCH for an uplink (UL) grant based on the at least one LCH restriction parameter when a new transmission is performed during the LCP procedure.

16. The UE of claim 9 , wherein the one or more computer-executable instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, further cause the UE to:

transition to an RRC_IDLE state after determining that the RRC release message does not include the specific configuration.
