Abstract

Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for enforcing limited mobility in a mobile network. For example, a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive (e.g., receive from a network) a mapping of physical cell identifications (PCIs) to area identifications (AIDs). The WTRU may determine a first PCI associated with a first neighbor cell. The WTRU may determine, based on the first PCI and the PCIs to AIDs mapping, whether the WTRU is allowed to access the first neighbor cell. The WTRU may perform cell selection or reselection with the first neighbor cell as a cell selection or reselection candidate. The WTRU may perform cell selection or reselection based on the WTRU determining that the WTRU is allowed to access the first neighbor cell. The WTRU may determine that the WTRU is allowed to access the first neighbor cell based on the first PCI and the PCIs to AIDs mapping.

Claims (25)

1. A method implemented by a network node, the method comprising:

receiving a registration request message from a wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU);

determining that the WTRU has moved to a location based on the registration request message;

determining one or more of an allowed area or a non-allowed area for the WTRU based on the determined location into which the WTRU has moved; and

sending a registration accept message to the WTRU, the registration accept message indicating the one or more of the allowed area or the non-allowed area.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein, in the non-allowed area the WTRU is not allowed to initiate session management (SM) signaling for user data transmission.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the registration request message comprises a tracking area update message.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the registration request message comprises an indication of the location of the WTRU.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the network node comprises an access and mobility management function (AMF).

6. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) comprising a processor and memory, the processor and memory configured to:

send a registration request message to a network node, wherein the WTRU is configured with one or more of a first allowed area or a first non-allowed area when the registration request message is sent to the network node;

receive a registration accept message from the network node, the registration accept message indicating one or more of a second allowed area or a second non-allowed area, wherein the second allowed area or the second non-allowed area is indicated to the WTRU based on a change in location of the WTRU.

7. The WTRU of claim 6 , wherein the registration request message comprises a tracking area update message.

8. The WTRU of claim 6 , wherein the registration request message comprises an indication of the location of the WTRU.

9. The WTRU of claim 6 , wherein the network node comprises an access and mobility management function (AMF).

10. A network node comprising a processor and memory, the processor and memory configured to:

receive a registration request message from a wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU);

determine that the WTRU has moved to a location based on the registration request message;

determine one or more of an allowed area or a non-allowed area for the WTRU based on the determined location into which the WTRU has moved; and

send a registration accept message to the WTRU, the registration accept message indicating the one or more of the allowed area or the non-allowed area.

11. The network node of claim 10 , wherein, in the non-allowed area the WTRU is not allowed to initiate session management (SM) signaling for user data transmission.

12. The network node of claim 10 , wherein the registration request message comprises a tracking area update message.

13. The network node of claim 10 , wherein the registration request message comprises an indication of the location of the WTRU.

14. The network node of claim 10 , wherein the network node comprises an access and mobility management function (AMF).

15. The WTRU of claim 6 , wherein, in the non-allowed area the WTRU is not allowed to initiate session management (SM) signaling for user data transmission.
