Abstract

The present application discloses method of controlling plant pathogen(s), e.g. fungal and bacterial pathogens, on a plant, wherein a composition comprising Bacillus amyloliquefaciens FCC1256 deposited as ATCC No. PTA-122162 is applied to the plant, in particular to over-ground parts of the plant. The composition may comprise iturin and fengycin in a relative weight ratio of 1.3:1.0 to 3.0:1.0. The application also discloses an agricultural composition comprising the novel strain, a carrier, a surface-active agent and optionally a buffer, and a corresponding concentrate.

Claims (21)

1. An agricultural composition comprising:

a) a fermentation broth comprising spores of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens FCC1256 deposited as ATCC No. PTA-122162 or a processed fermentation product comprising spores of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens FCC1256 deposited as ATCC No. PTA-122162, and

b) an agriculturally suitable formulation medium.

2. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the composition is a formulation selected from suspensions, suspension concentrates (SC), oil dispersions (OD), foams, dustable powders (DP), water-dispersible granules (WG) and wettable powders (WP).

3. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the composition is in liquid form, and wherein the Bacillus amyloliquefaciens FCC1256 is present in the composition at a concentration of from 1.0×10 6 CFU/mL to 1.0×10 12 CFU/mL.

4. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the composition is in solid form, and wherein the Bacillus amyloliquefaciens FCC1256 is present in the composition at a concentration of from 1.0×10 6 CFU/g to 1.0×10 12 CFU/g.

5. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the composition further comprises a suitable carrier.

6. The composition of claim 1 , where the processed fermentation product is selected from a concentrate of the fermentation broth or a spray-dried fermentation broth.

7. A concentrate for an agricultural composition, the concentrate comprising:

a) a fermentation broth comprising spores of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens FCC1256 deposited as ATCC No. PTA-122162 or a processed fermentation product comprising spores of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens FCC1256 deposited as ATCC No. PTA-122162, and

b) an agriculturally suitable formulation medium.

The concentrate of claim 7 , which is in the form of a formulation selected from suspension concentrates (SC), ultra-low volume suspensions (SU), seed treatment suspensions (FS), oil dispersions (OD), pastes (PA), gels (GD), water-dispersible granules (WG), dustable powders (DP), water-dispersible tablets (WT), water-dispersible powders for slurry treatment (WS) and wettable powders (WP).

9. The concentrate of claim 7 , wherein the concentrate is in liquid form, and wherein the Bacillus amyloliquefaciens FCC1256 is present in the concentrate at a concentration of from 1.0×10 8 CFU/mL to 1.0×10 14 CFU/mL.

10. The concentrate of claim 7 , wherein the concentrate is in solid form, and wherein the Bacillus amyloliquefaciens FCC1256is present in the concentrate at a concentration of from 1.0×10 8 CFU/g to 1.0×10 14 CFU/g.

11. The concentrate of claim 7 , wherein the concentrate further comprises a suitable carrier.

12. The concentrate of claim 7 , wherein the processed fermentation product is a spray-dried fermentation broth.

13. An agricultural composition comprising:

a) a fermentation broth comprising spores of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens FCC1256 deposited as ATCC No. PTA-122162or a processed fermentation product comprising spores of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens FCC1256 deposited as ATCC No. PTA-122162; and

b) one or a combination of a microbial or a chemical insecticide, fungicide, nematicide, bacteriocide, plant growth regulator, or plant growth promotor.

14. The composition of claim 13 , wherein the composition further comprises an agriculturally suitable carrier.

15. The composition of claim 13 , wherein the composition is in the form of a liquid, an oil dispersion, a dust, a dry wettable powder, a spreadable granule, or a dry wettable granule.
