Abstract

The invention relates to a sustained release biodegradable ocular implant containing a tyrosine kinase inhibitor dispersed in a hydrogel for the treatment of a retinal disease for an extended period of time.

Claims (6)

1 . A sustained release biodegradable ocular implant comprising a hydrogel and an active agent, wherein active agent particles are dispersed within the hydrogel, and wherein the implant in its dry state has a length of less than about 17 mm, wherein the active agent is not a tyrosine kinsase inhibitor.

2 - 111 . (canceled)

112 . A method of treating an ocular disease in a patient in need thereof, the method comprising administering to the patient a sustained release biodegradable ocular implant comprising a hydrogel and an active agent according to claim 1 .

113 - 158 . (canceled)

159 . A method of manufacturing a sustained release biodegradable ocular implant comprising a hydrogel and an active agent according to claim 1 , the method comprising the steps of forming a hydrogel comprising a polymer network and active agent particles dispersed in the hydrogel, shaping the hydrogel and drying the hydrogel.

160 - 209 . (canceled)
