Herbicidal compositions for animal grazelands and methods for applying the same
Methods and compositions for controlling undesired vegetation in animal grazelands.
1. A method of controlling fire size and frequency at a locus in need thereof, comprising:
applying to the locus an amount of a composition of indaziflam sufficient to reduce flammable biomass at the locus,
wherein the locus is a rangeland used for grazing domestic livestock, and
wherein the rangeland is safe for grazing by the domestic livestock immediately following the application of indaziflam.
2. The method of claim 1 wherein the biomass is derived in whole or in part from an invasive grass species on the rangeland.
3. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the composition comprises indaziflam in an amount of 0.01 to 25 lb./gallon.
4. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the composition is applied at a rate of 0.001 to 100 oz/A.
5. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the composition is applied at a rate of 0.1 to 50 oz/A.
6. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the indaziflam is applied in an amount of 0.001 to 25 lb. ai/A.
7. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the indaziflam is applied in an amount of 0.01 to 1 lb. ai/A.
8. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the rangeland comprises tallgrass prairie, shortgrass prairie, desert grassland, shrubland, savanna, steppe, or pampas, or any combination thereof.
9. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the flammable biomass comprises thatch.
10. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the application of indaziflam promotes a discontinuous fire system over a horizontally continuous fire system.
11. A method of reducing formation of flammable biomass on rangeland, or pasture, or both that is used for grazing domestic livestock, the method, comprising:
applying to the rangeland, or the pasture, or both an amount of a composition of indaziflam sufficient to reduce formation of flammable biomass on the rangeland, or the pasture, or both,
wherein the indaziflam is applied in absence of fire on the rangeland, or the pasture, or both,
wherein the application of indaziflam reduces occurrence, size, or frequency, or any combination thereof, of fire on the rangeland, or the pasture, or both, and
wherein the rangeland is safe for grazing by the domestic livestock immediately following the application of indaziflam.
12. The method of claim 11 wherein the biomass is derived in whole or in part from an invasive grass species on the rangeland.
13. The method according to claim 11 , wherein the composition comprises indaziflam in an amount of 0.01 to 25 lb./gallon.
14. The method according to claim 11 , wherein the composition is applied at a rate of 0.001 to 100 oz/A.
15. The method according to claim 11 , wherein the composition is applied at a rate of 0.1 to 50 oz/A.
16. The method according to claim 11 , wherein the indaziflam is applied in an amount of 0.001 to 25 lb. ai/A.
17. The method according to claim 11 , wherein the indaziflam is applied in an amount of 0.01 to 1 lb. ai/A.
18. The method according to claim 11 , wherein the rangeland comprises tallgrass prairie, shortgrass prairie, desert grassland, shrubland, savanna, steppe, or pampas, or any combination thereof.
19. The method according to claim 11 , wherein the flammable biomass comprises thatch.
20. The method according to claim 11 , wherein the application of indaziflam promotes a discontinuous fire system over a horizontally continuous fire system.
