Abstract

Non-limiting embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a method comprising: obtaining asphalt shingle waste (ASW) and performing grinding, screening, and separating steps on the ASW. In some embodiments, granules are removed from the ASW. In some embodiments, the method transforms ASW into ASW powder. In some embodiments, the ASW powder is formed into a plurality of briquettes. In some embodiments, at least one of: the ASW powder, the plurality of briquettes, or any combination thereof is fed into a mixing process that results in an ASW powder filled coating.

Claims (63)

1 . A composition comprising:

an asphalt shingle waste (ASW) powder,

wherein the ASW powder comprises:

5% to 40% by weight of an asphalt based on a total weight of the ASW powder,

wherein the asphalt comprises waste asphalt; and

60% to 95% by weight of limestone and impurities based on the total weight of the ASW powder;

less than 20% by weight of granules based on the total weight of the ASW powder;

wherein the ASW powder has an average particle size of 2 microns to 425 microns.

2 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the ASW powder comprises less than 10% by weight of granules based on the total weight of the ASW powder.

3 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the ASW powder comprises less than 5% by weight of granules based on the total weight of the ASW powder.

4 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the ASW powder has an average particle size of 10 microns to 425 microns.

5 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the ASW powder has an average particle size of 15 microns to 425 microns.

6 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the ASW powder has an average particle size of 20 microns to 425 microns.

7 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the ASW powder has an average particle size of 25 microns to 425 microns.

8 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the ASW powder has an average particle size of 50 microns to 425 microns.

9 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the ASW powder has an average particle size of 75 microns to 425 microns.

10 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the ASW powder has an average particle size of 100 microns to 425 microns.

11 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the ASW powder has an average particle size of 125 microns to 425 microns.

12 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the ASW powder has an average particle size of 225 microns to 425 microns.

13 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the ASW powder has an average particle size of 325 microns to 425 microns.

14 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the ASW powder has an average particle size of 2 microns to 325 microns.

15 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the ASW powder has an average particle size of 2 microns to 225 microns.

16 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the ASW powder has an average particle size of 25 microns to 250 microns.

17 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the ASW powder has an average particle size of 75 microns to 250 microns.

18 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the ASW powder has an average particle size of 100 microns to 250 microns.

19 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the ASW powder has an average particle size of 150 microns to 250 microns.

20 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the ASW powder comprises:

10% to 40% by weight of the asphalt based on the total weight of ASW powder; and

60% to 90% by weight of the limestone and the impurities based on the total weight of the ASW powder.

21 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the ASW powder comprises:

15% to 40% by weight of the asphalt based on the total weight of ASW powder; and

60% to 85% by weight of the limestone and the impurities based on the total weight of the ASW powder.

22 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the ASW powder comprises:

20% to 40% by weight of the asphalt based on the total weight of ASW powder; and

60% to 80% by weight of the limestone and the impurities based on the total weight of the ASW powder.

23 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the ASW powder comprises:

25% to 40% by weight of the asphalt based on the total weight of ASW powder; and

60% to 75% by weight of the limestone and the impurities based on the total weight of the ASW powder.

24 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the ASW powder comprises:

30% to 40% by weight of the asphalt based on the total weight of ASW powder; and

60% to 70% by weight of the limestone and the impurities based on the total weight of the ASW powder.

25 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the ASW powder comprises:

5% to 35% by weight of the asphalt based on the total weight of ASW powder; and

65% to 95% by weight of the limestone and the impurities based on the total weight of the ASW powder.

26 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the ASW powder comprises:

5% to 30% by weight of the asphalt based on the total weight of ASW powder; and

70% to 95% by weight of the limestone and the impurities based on the total weight of the ASW powder.

27 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the ASW powder comprises:

5% to 25% by weight of the asphalt based on the total weight of ASW powder; and

75% to 95% by weight of the limestone and the impurities based on the total weight of the ASW powder.

28 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the ASW powder comprises:

5% to 20% by weight of the asphalt based on the total weight of ASW powder; and

80% to 95% by weight of the limestone and the impurities based on the total weight of the ASW powder.

29 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the ASW powder comprises:

5% to 15% by weight of the asphalt based on the total weight of ASW powder; and

85% to 95% by weight of the limestone and the impurities based on the total weight of the ASW powder.

30 . A composition comprising:

an asphalt shingle waste (ASW) powder,

wherein the ASW powder comprises:

5% to 40% by weight of an asphalt based on a total weight of the ASW powder,

wherein the asphalt comprises waste asphalt; and

60% to 95% by weight of limestone and impurities based on to the total weight of the ASW powder;

wherein the ASW powder has an average particle size of 2 microns to 425 microns.
