Abstract

The present disclosure is related to the use of compositions and their use in reducing and treating pain.

Claims (20)

1. A method of treating photophobia, the method comprising administering a composition comprising a pharmaceutically effective amount of CBD and THC to a subject in need thereof, wherein the ratio of CBD:THC is from about 30:1 to about 100:1.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the administering is accomplished via injection.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the treatment is effective within 2 hours post-administration.

4. The method of claim 3 , wherein the treatment is effective within 30 minutes post-administration.

5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the treatment is effective within 15 minutes post-administration.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the photophobia is measured by a light aversion assay, the Utah Photophobia Symptom Impact Scale, the Korean Photophobia Questionnaire, or by self-reporting by the subject.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the ratio of CBD to THC is about 40:1.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the ratio of CBD to THC is about 50:1.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the ratio of CBD to THC is about 60:1.

10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the ratio of CBD to THC is about 70:1.

11. The method of claim 1 , wherein the ratio of CBD to THC is about 80:1.

12. The method of claim 1 , wherein the ratio of CBD to THC is about 90:1.

13. The method of claim 1 , wherein the THC and the CBD are at least 90 wt % pure.

14. The method of claim 1 , wherein the composition further comprises at least one minor cannabinoid.

15. The method of claim 14 , wherein the at least one minor cannabinoid is at least 90 wt % pure.

16. The method of claim 14 , wherein the at least one minor cannabinoid is selected from the group consisting of CBG, CBGA, CBN, CBNA, THCV, THCA, CBC, CBCA, CBDV, and D8-THC.

17. The method of claim 1 , wherein at least one biomarker of central and peripheral sensitization is modulated as a result of the administration.

18. The method of claim 17 , wherein the at least one biomarker is selected from the group consisting of NMDA, glutamate, CGRP, FAAH, Substance P, 5-HT, NO, GABA, NGF, serotonin, dopamine, AEA, and 2-AG.

19. The method of claim 1 , wherein the composition comprises an amount of CBD to reduce unwanted side effects of THC.

20. The method of claim 1 , wherein the composition comprises an amount of CBD to reduce risk factors associated with THC.
