Abstract

A system, includes a memory in communication with a processor, the memory storing instructions that when executed by the processor cause the processor to receive a first location of a real vehicle, receive an updated location of the real vehicle, compute, utilizing at least the first location and the updated location, a future location of the real vehicle at a predetermined time in the future and output data to a display device adapted to display to a user of the display device at the predetermined time a mixed reality representation of an environment surrounding the real vehicle as viewed from the future location.

Claims (12)

1 . A system, comprising:

a memory in communication with a processor, the memory storing instructions that when executed by the processor cause the processor to:

(a) receive a first location of a real vehicle:

(b) receive an updated location of the real vehicle;

(c) compute, utilizing at least the first location and the updated location, a future location of the real vehicle at a predetermined time in the future; and

(d) output data to a display device adapted to display to a user of the display device at the predetermined time a mixed reality representation of an environment surrounding the real vehicle as viewed from the future location, wherein the predetermined time corresponds to an expected latency between generation of the mixed reality representation and presentation of the mixed reality representation on the display device, and wherein the mixed reality representation is rendered based on the future location to reduce effects of the expected latency.

2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the mixed reality representation of the environment is a virtual environment comprising a plurality of entities each having one or more location attributes and corresponding time attributes defining, for each entity, a predicted location of the entity at the predetermined time wherein at least one of the plurality of entities is a virtual asset and wherein at least one of the plurality of entities represents a real vehicle having a defined location within a physical space having spatial coordinates that are mapped to the virtual environment.

3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the real vehicle is a plane.

4 . The system of claim 3 , wherein the user is a pilot of the plane.

5 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the computing the future location is based, at least on in part, on a sensed attribute of the real vehicle indicative of one or more of a speed, an acceleration, and an attitude of the real vehicle.

6 . The system of claim 5 , wherein the sensed attribute is sensed by a sensor selected from the group consisting of an accelerometer, a vibration sensor, a gyroscope and a GPS.

7 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the predetermined time is less than or equal to one second after receiving the updated location.
