Claims (46)

1. A method comprising:

causing a display of a first media asset on a display of a user device;

determining whether playback of the displayed first media asset has reached its end; and

in response to determining that the playback of the displayed first media asset has reached its end:

automatically generating a list of media assets that are related to the first media asset;

generating a separate section for displaying the generated list of media assets; and

displaying the generated list of media assets with a visual marking, on the display of the user device, in the generated separate section, wherein separate markings for separate media assets, from the generated list of media assets, that are reflective of user interest and lack of interest in the media assets are simultaneously displayed.

2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising, indicating that the separate section includes media assets that are related to the first media asset.

3. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

the first media asset being an episode of a series; and

the generated list of media assets being other episodes of the same series as the first media asset.

4. The method of claim 3 , wherein the displayed generated list of media assets is displayed in episode order.

5. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

the first media asset being a movie that includes sequels or prequels; and

the generated list of media assets being another movie that is either a sequel or a prequel to the movie.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the separate section includes a heading that is reflective of a type of media asset.

7. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

generating for display on the display of the user device, an option to mark one or more media assets from the list of the generated list of media assets.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the media assets marked with the marking reflective of lack of user interest are displayed in a lower order than the media assets marked with the marking reflective of user interest.

9. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

displaying a selectable option for selecting a media asset from the displayed generated list of media assets, wherein the selectable option being selected from a group consisting of purchasing, viewing a trailer, and parentally locking a selected media asset from the displayed generated list of media assets.

10. The method of claim 1 , wherein only media assets that are related to the first media asset and are part of the generated list of media assets are displayed in the separate section.

11. A system comprising:

memory; and

processing circuitry configured to:

cause a display of a first media asset on a display of a user device;

determine whether playback of the displayed first media asset has reached its end; and

in response to determining that the playback of the displayed first media asset has reached its end:

automatically generate a list of media assets that are related to the first media asset;

generate a separate section for displaying the generated list of media assets; and

display the generated list of media assets with a visual marking, on the display of the user device, in the generated separate section, wherein separate markings for separate media assets, from the generated list of media assets, that are reflective of user interest and lack of interest in the media assets are simultaneously displayed.

12. The system of claim 11 , further comprising, the processing circuitry configured to indicate that the separate section includes media assets that are related to the first media asset.

13. The system of claim 11 , further comprising:

the first media asset being an episode of a series; and

the generated list of media assets being other episodes of the same series as the first media asset.

14. The system of claim 13 , wherein the displayed generated list of media assets is displayed by the processing circuitry in episode order.

15. The system of claim 11 , further comprising:

the first media asset being a movie that includes sequels or prequels; and

the generated list of media assets being another movie that is either a sequel or a prequel to the movie.

16. The system of claim 11 , wherein the separate section includes a heading that is reflective of a type of media asset.

17. The system of claim 11 , further comprising, the processing circuitry configured to:

generate for display on the display of the user device, an option to mark one or more media assets from the list of the generated list of media assets.

18. The system of claim 11 , further comprising, the processing circuitry configured to:

display a selectable option for selecting a media asset from the displayed generated list of media assets, wherein the selectable option being selected from a group consisting of purchasing, viewing a trailer, and parentally locking a selected media asset from the displayed generated list of media assets.

19. The method of claim 1 , further comprising, automatically marking a media asset, from the generated list of media assets, with a second marking, wherein the second marking is indicative of the media asset being already viewed.

20. The system of claim 11 , further comprising, the processing circuitry configured to automatically mark a media asset, from the generated list of media assets, with a second marking, wherein the second marking is indicative of the media asset being already viewed.
