CUSTOM ADDITIVELY MANUFACTURED CORE STRUCTURES
The present disclosure relates to custom additively manufactured core structures and the manufacture thereof In one aspect, a panel for use in a transport structure includes first and second face sheets, and an additively manufactured (AM) core affixed between the first and second face sheets. The AM core is foldable such that at least one portion of the AM core is movable between a folded position and an unfolded position. In another aspect of the disclosure, a method for producing a panel for use in a transport structure includes additively manufacturing a core is disclosed.

27 . A method for producing a panel for use in a transport structure, comprising:
additively manufacturing a core, comprising co-printing a plurality of hinges with at least one portion of the core, the plurality of hinges being configured to enable the at least one portion to be folded;
attaching a first face sheet to a first side of the core; and
attaching a second face sheet to a second side of the core.
28 . The method of claim 27 , wherein additively manufacturing the core comprises additively manufacturing at least one of a honeycomb structure and a lattice structure.
29 . The method of claim 27 , wherein the core comprises a plurality of cells, each of the plurality of cells comprising one or more hinges and one or more sides.
30 . The method of claim 29 , wherein co-printing a plurality of hinges comprises co-printing the one or more hinges and the one or more sides for each of the plurality of cells in the core.
31 . A method for additively manufacturing a core, comprising:
additively manufacturing at least one of a honeycomb structure or a lattice structure core;
co-printing a plurality of hinges with at least a portion of the at least one of a honeycomb structure or a lattice structure core.
32 . The method of claim 31 , wherein the honeycomb structure or lattice structure core comprises a plurality of cells, each of the plurality of cells comprising one or more hinges and one or more sides.
33 . The method of claim 32 , wherein co-printing a plurality of hinges comprises co-printing the one or more hinges and one or more of six sides for each of the plurality of cells in the core.
34 . The method of claim 32 , wherein each of the plurality of cells is hexagonal.
