Abstract

Methods, system, and articles of manufacture are disclosed to provide high availability to a cluster of nodes. Example apparatus disclosed herein are to identify member nodes of a cluster, determine whether an instance of an infrastructure supervisor is operating on any of the nodes, when an infrastructure supervisor is determined to not be operating, instantiate an infrastructure supervisor, and broadcast a discovery message to other nodes.

Claims (27)

1 . An apparatus comprising:

at least one memory;

machine readable instructions; and

processor circuitry to at least one of instantiate or execute the machine readable instructions to:

identify member nodes of a cluster;

determine whether an instance of an infrastructure supervisor is operating on any of the nodes;

when an infrastructure supervisor is determined to not be operating, instantiate an infrastructure supervisor; and

broadcast a discovery message to other nodes.

2 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the processor circuitry is further to:

identify replies to the discovery message from other nodes;

determine one of the other nodes is to instantiate the infravisor runtime based on the replies to the discovery message from other nodes.

3 . A non-transitory machine readable storage medium comprising instructions that, when executed, cause processor circuitry to at least:

identify member nodes of a cluster;

determine whether an instance of an infrastructure supervisor is operating on any of the nodes;

when an infrastructure supervisor is determined to not be operating, instantiate an infrastructure supervisor; and

broadcast a discovery message to other nodes.

4 . The non-transitory machine readable storage medium of claim 3 wherein the instructions further cause the processor circuitry to:

identify replies to the discovery message from other nodes;

determine one of the other nodes is to instantiate the infravisor runtime based on the replies to the discovery message from other nodes.

5 . A method comprising:

identifying, by executing an instruction with one or more processors, member nodes of a cluster;

determining, by executing an instruction with one or more processors, whether an instance of an infrastructure supervisor is operating on any of the nodes;

instantiating, by executing an instruction with one or more processors, an infrastructure supervisor, when an infrastructure supervisor is determined to not be operating; and

broadcasting, by executing an instruction with one or more processors, a discovery message to other nodes.

6 . The method of apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the processor circuitry is further to:

identify replies to the discovery message from other nodes;

determine one of the other nodes is to instantiate the infravisor runtime based on the replies to the discovery message from other nodes.
