Abstract

A hydraulic fracturing system for fracturing a subterranean formation includes a support structure that includes an electric powered pump, arranged in a first area, the electric powered pump powered by at least one electric motor, also arranged in the first area. The system further includes a variable frequency drive (VFD), arranged in a second area proximate the first area, connected to the at least one electric motor to control the speed of the at least one electric motor. The system includes a transformer, arranged in a third area proximate the second area. The system also includes a slide out platform integrated into the first area, the slide out platform being driven between a retracted position and a deployed position.

a slide out platform associated with the first area, the slide out platform being moveable between a retracted position and a deployed position, wherein the deployed position provides a work area proximate the electric pump, the slide out platform being moveable along a rail;

a pump platform positioned on the first support structure and supporting both the electric pump and the slide out platform, the rail positioned axially lower than the electric pump and supported axially lower than an upper surface of the pump platform to support the slide out platform; and

a filtration system associated with a second support structure.

2. The hydraulic fracturing system of claim 1 , further comprising:

a motor control center arranged in the fourth area, the motor control center arranged within an enclosure and positioned between at least a portion of the cooling system and the third area.

3. The hydraulic fracturing system of claim 1 , further comprising:

hinged covers forming a portion of the fourth area, wherein the hinged covers are movable between an open position and a closed position to provide access to cable trays when in the open position.

4. The hydraulic fracturing system of claim 1 , wherein the first support structure is at least one of a trailer, a skid, a pad, a truck bed, or a combination thereof.

5. The hydraulic fracturing system of claim 1 , further comprising:

a heating unit mounted on the second support structure.

6. The hydraulic fracturing system of claim 1 , further comprising:

a heating unit mounted on a third support structure.

7. The hydraulic fracturing system of claim 1 , wherein the filtration system is coupled to a natural gas supply upstream of the at least one generator.

8. A system, comprising:

at least one generator;

at least one switchgear receiving electrical power from the generator;

an electric pump system, arranged on a first support structure, having an electric pump powered by at least one electric motor;

a variable frequency drive (VFD), arranged on the first support structure, connected to the at least one electric motor to control a speed of the at least one electric motor;

a transformer, arranged on the first support structure, the transformer positioned within an enclosure, the transformer distributing power for the electric pump system, the power being received from the at least one generator at a voltage higher than an operating voltage of one or more components of the electric pump system;

a cooling system, arranged on the first support structure and separated from the VFD by the transformer, the cooling system providing a cooling fluid to the VFD;

a slide out platform associated with the first support structure, the slide out platform being moveable between a retracted position and a deployed position, wherein the deployed position provides a work area proximate the electric pump, the slide out platform being moveable along a rail;

a pump platform positioned on the first support structure and supporting both the electric pump and the slide out platform, the rail positioned axially lower than the electric pump and supported axially lower than an upper surface of the pump platform to support the slide out platform; and

a filtration system associated with a second support structure, the at least one switchgear distributing power to the filtration system.

9. The system of claim 8 , further comprising:

a motor control center arranged on the first support structure, the motor control center arranged within an enclosure and positioned between at least a portion of the cooling system and the transformer.

10. The system of claim 8 , wherein the slide out platform comprises:

a handrail; and

a ladder.
