SYSTEM, METHOD, AND APPARATUS FOR MANAGING VEHICLE DATA COLLECTION
An apparatus that includes a policy acquisition circuit, a policy processing circuit, and a policy execution circuit. The policy acquisition circuit interprets a vehicle policy data value that includes at least a portion of a vehicle policy. The policy processing circuit generates, in response to and based at least in part on the vehicle policy data value, parsed policy data that includes of one or more vehicle sub-policies of the vehicle policy. The policy execution circuit collects vehicle data from one or more vehicle sensors in response to the parsed policy data.
1 . An apparatus comprising:
a policy acquisition circuit structured to interpret a vehicle policy data value comprising at least a portion of a vehicle policy;
a policy processing circuit structured to generate, in response to and based at least in part on the vehicle policy data value, parsed policy data that comprises of one or more vehicle sub-policies of the vehicle policy; and
a policy execution circuit structured to collect vehicle data from one or more vehicle sensors in response to the parsed policy data.
2 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the policy processing circuit is further structured to determine from the vehicle policy data value a type value of the vehicle policy, wherein the type value is at least one of a passive policy or an active policy for a vehicle.
3 . The apparatus of claim 2 , wherein when the type value of the vehicle policy is the passive policy, the vehicle data collected by the policy execution circuit is ordinarily collected during operation of the vehicle.
4 . The apparatus of claim 2 , wherein when the type value of the vehicle policy is the passive policy, the vehicle data collected by the policy execution circuit is ordinarily made available for collection by one or more sensors during operation of the vehicle.

The apparatus of claim 2 , wherein when the type value of the vehicle policy is the active policy, the vehicle data collected by the policy execution circuit is generated by one or more sensors responsive to a request for the vehicle data transmitted to one or more endpoints corresponding to the one or more sensors, wherein the request is based at least in part on the vehicle policy.
6 . The apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the policy execution circuit is further structured to passively collect the vehicle data in response to the type value being a passive policy.
7 . The apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the policy execution circuit is further structured to actively collect the vehicle data in response to the type value being an active policy.
8 . The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the policy execution circuit is further structured to transmit a begin collection command value to actively collect the vehicle data.
9 . The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the policy execution circuit is further structured to generate, based at least in part on the collected vehicle data, a vehicle property value to actively collect the vehicle data.
10 . The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the policy execution circuit is further structured to transmit a query value to actively collect the vehicle data.
11 . The apparatus of claim 1 further comprising:
a memory device structured to store the collected vehicle data.
12 . The apparatus of claim 1 further comprising:
a converged network device (CND) structured to regulate communications between a first network zone and a second network zone, the first network zone having a first vehicle sensor of the one or more vehicle sensors and the second network zone having a second vehicle sensor of the one or more vehicle sensors.
13 . The apparatus of claim 12 , wherein the first network zone and the second network zone are of distinct types.
14 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the policy execution circuit is further structured to delegate collection of the vehicle data to one or more vehicle controllers via transmitting at least some of the parsed policy data to the one or more vehicle controllers.
15 . The apparatus of claim 14 further comprising:
a collected data acquisition circuit structured to interpret the vehicle data collected by the one or more vehicle controllers.
16 . The apparatus of claim 1 further comprising:
a collected data provisioning circuit structured to transmit the collected vehicle data.
17 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the vehicle policy data value is encrypted.
18 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the parsed policy data is encrypted.
19 . A method comprising:
interpreting a vehicle policy data value comprising at least a portion of a vehicle policy;
generating, in response to and based at least in part on the vehicle policy data value, parsed policy data that comprises of one or more vehicle sub-policies of the vehicle policy; and
collecting vehicle data from one or more vehicle sensors in response to the parsed policy data.
20 . The method of claim 19 further comprising:
determining, from the vehicle policy data value, a type value of the vehicle policy, wherein the type value is at least one of a passive policy or an active policy.
21 . The method of claim 20 , wherein collecting the vehicle data comprises:
passively collecting the vehicle data in response to the type value.
22 . The method of claim 20 , wherein collecting the vehicle data comprises:
actively collecting the vehicle data in response to the type value.
23 . The method of claim 22 , wherein actively collecting the vehicle data comprises:
transmitting a begin collection command value.
24 . The method of claim 22 , wherein actively collecting the vehicle data comprises:
generating a vehicle property value based at least in part on the collected vehicle data.
25 . The method of claim 22 , wherein actively collecting the vehicle data comprises:
transmitting a query value.
26 . The method of claim 19 further comprising:
regulating communications between a first network zone and a second network zone, the first network zone having a first vehicle sensor of the one or more vehicle sensors and the second network zone having a second vehicle sensor of the one or more vehicle sensors.
27 . The method of claim 26 , wherein the first network zone and the second network zone are of distinct types.
28 . The method of claim 19 , wherein collecting vehicle data comprises:
delegating collection of the vehicle data to one or more vehicle controllers via transmitting at least some of the parsed policy data to the one or more vehicle controllers.
29 . The method of claim 28 further comprising:
interpreting the vehicle data collected by the one or more vehicle controllers.
30 . The method of claim 19 further comprising:
transmitting the collected vehicle data.
31 . An apparatus comprising:
a policy acquisition circuit structured to interpret a vehicle policy data value comprising at least a portion of a vehicle policy;
a policy processing circuit structured to generate, in response to and based at least in part on the vehicle policy data value, parsed policy data that comprises of one or more vehicle sub-policies of the vehicle policy, wherein the policy processing circuit is structured to determine, from the vehicle policy data value, an active type value of the vehicle policy; and
a policy execution circuit structured to collect vehicle data from one or more vehicle endpoints in response to the parsed policy data.
32 . The apparatus of claim 31 , wherein the vehicle data collected by the policy execution circuit is generated by the one or more vehicle endpoints responsive to a request for the vehicle data transmitted to one or more other endpoints, wherein the request is based at least in part on the vehicle policy.
