Abstract

A network system is provided between at least a first client site and a second client site. A client site network component is implemented at least at the first client site, the client site network component aggregating one or more diverse network connections so as to configure an aggregated connection that has increased throughput. At least one network server component may be configured to connect to the client site network component using the aggregated connection. A cloud network controller may be configured to manage the data traffic and a virtual edge providing transparent lower-link encryption for the aggregated connection between the client site network component and the network server component. The network server component includes a virtual control plane interface configured to establish a unicast path between the network server component and each of a plurality of remote network server components.

Claims (14)

1. A system for improving communication performance between at least one first client site and a second client site coupled by one or more networks, the system comprising:

at least one customer premises equipment implemented at the at least one first client site bonding a plurality of network connections generating one or more bonded connections carrying data traffic in first data packets according to a common access protocol to increase throughput;

at least one network server configured to connect to the at least one customer premises equipment, the network server terminating the one or more bonded connections and passing the data traffic according to a second protocol other than the common access protocol to the one or more networks, including receiving said first data packets which are unlabeled according to the second protocol, encapsulating the first data packets with labels according to the second protocol other that the common access protocol, and passing the encapsulated packets to the one or more networks; and

a communication interface at the at least one network server, the communication interface configured to establish a unicast path between the at least one network server and each of a plurality of remote network server coupled to the at least one network.

2. The system of claim 1 , further comprising a virtual edge connection providing at least one of transparent encryption and encapsulation using the common access protocol for a higher speed connection between the customer premises equipment and the network server.

3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the customer premises equipment is configured to separate data traffic and encapsulate data packets of the data traffic using a common access protocol for a higher speed connection.

4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the customer premises equipment is configured with a route to the at least one network server to prepare the data traffic for a higher speed connection.

5. The system of claim 4 , wherein the route is selected from the group comprising of a static route, a dynamic route or a route from a separate virtual routing forwarding table.

6. A customer premises equipment, comprising a memory, a processor and one or more ports, implemented at least one first client site in network communication with a second client site;

the customer premises equipment processor bonding a plurality of diverse network connections generating one or more bonded connections carrying data traffic in first data packets according to a common access protocol to configure an increase in throughput;

the customer premises equipment processor configured to connect to at least one network server implemented at an access point to at least one network, the network server terminating the one or more bonded connections and passing the data traffic according to a second protocol other than the common access protocol to an access point to at least one wide area network, including receiving said first data packets which are unlabeled according to the second protocol, encapsulating the first data packets with labels according to the second protocol other that the common access protocol, and passing the encapsulated packets to the access point, wherein the at least one network server includes a communication interface, the communication interface configured to establish a unicast path between the at least one network server and each of a plurality of remote network server components, wherein a virtual network overlay is established between the at least one network server and each of the plurality of remote network server components and each unicast path is used for data transmission over the corresponding virtual network overlay.

7. The customer premises equipment processor of claim 6 , configured to separate data traffic and use the common access protocol for encapsulation of data packets of the data traffic for a higher speed connection.

8. The customer premises equipment processor of claim 6 , configured with a route to the at least one network server to separate the traffic to prepare the data traffic for a higher speed connection.

9. The customer premises equipment processor of claim 8 wherein the route is a static route, a dynamic route or a route from a separate or independent virtual routing forwarding table.
