Abstract

A monitoring system can provide a sound profile to a network device. The monitoring system can identify a type of location associated with the network device that is located in a network. The monitoring system can determine a sound profile based on the type of location. The monitoring system can provide the sound profile to the network device. The sound profile relates to one or more sounds associated with the location so that the network device need not store and/or process all sounds but rather only those sounds that would typically be received or made at the location. The sound profile can be based or updated based on user sensor data received from the network device. In this way, the network device, the monitoring system, any other network resource, or any combination thereof uses context-aware sound identification to monitor a client user.

Claims (49)

1 . A monitoring system for providing a sound profile to a network device comprising:

a memory storing one or more computer-readable instructions; and

a processor configured to execute the one or more computer-readable instructions to:

identify a type of location associated with the network device;

determine a sound profile based on the type of location; and

provide the sound profile to the network device.

2 . The monitoring system of claim 1 , wherein identifying the type of location is based on one or more context parameters, and wherein the one or more context parameters comprise a location associated with the network device.

3 . The monitoring system of claim 1 , wherein the processor is further configured to execute one or more instructions to:

download the sound profile from a network resource.

4 . The monitoring system of claim 1 , wherein the processor is further configured to execute one or more instructions to:

receive user sensor data from the network device; and

wherein identifying the type of location is based on the user sensor data.

5 . The monitoring system of claim 1 , wherein providing the sound profile to the network device comprises transmitting the sound profile over the air to the network device.

6 . The monitoring system of claim 1 , wherein the processor is further configured to execute one or more instructions to:

receive user sensor data from the network device; and

update a sound profile based on the user sensor data.

7 . The monitoring system of claim 1 , wherein the processor is further configured to execute one or more instructions to:

receive the type of location from a user interface.

8 . A method of a monitoring system for providing a sound profile to a network device, the method comprising:

identifying a type of location associated with the network device;

determining a sound profile based on the type of location; and

providing the sound profile to the network device.

9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein identifying the type of location is based on one or more context parameters, and wherein the one or more context parameters comprise a location associated with the network device.

10 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising:

downloading the sound profile from a network resource.

11 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising:

receiving user sensor data from the network device; and

wherein identifying the type of location is based on the user sensor data.

12 . The method of claim 8 , wherein providing the sound profile to the network device comprises transmitting the sound profile over the air to the network device.

13 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising:

receiving user sensor data from the network device; and

updating a sound profile based on the user sensor data.

14 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising:

receiving the type of location from a user interface.

15 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium of a monitoring system storing one or more instructions for providing a sound profile to a network device, which when executed by a processor of the monitoring system, cause the monitoring system to perform one or more operations comprising:

identifying a type of location associated with the network device;

determining a sound profile based on the type of location; and

providing the sound profile to the network device.

16 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein identifying the type of location is based on one or more context parameters, and wherein the one or more context parameters comprise a location associated with the network device.

17 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the one or more instructions when executed by the processor further cause the monitoring system to perform one or more further operations comprising at least one of:

downloading the sound profile from a network resource; and

receiving the type of location from a user interface.

18 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , the one or more instructions when executed by the processor further cause the monitoring system to perform one or more further operations comprising:

receiving user sensor data from the network device; and

wherein identifying the type of location is based on the user sensor data.

19 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein providing the sound profile to the network device comprises transmitting the sound profile over the air to the network device.

20 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the one or more instructions when executed by the processor further cause the sound identification system to perform one or more further operations comprising:

receiving user sensor data from the network device; and

updating a sound profile based on the user sensor data.
