Abstract

A system for adaptive power grid management includes an asset manager module configured to identify a plurality of assets from a provisional logistics list listing assets assigned to one or more tasks of a formation plan having a plurality of states, determine operation objectives for the formation plan, determine operational index requirements for each of the plurality of assets based on the formation plan, verify the plurality of assets have acceptable operation indexes based on the operational index requirements and asset data in the asset database, generate a logistics list comprising verified assets for the plurality of tasks for the formation plan, and cause verified assets of the plurality of network of devices to execute the formation plan.

Claims (41)

1 . An adaptive power grid management system, the system comprises:

an asset database storing asset attributes of assets on a network of devices; and

a processor coupled to the asset database and the network of devices, the processor being configured to execute a portfolio manager module which causes the processor to:

identify a plurality of assets from a provisional logistics list listing assets assigned to one or more tasks of a formation plan having a plurality of states;

determine operation objectives for the formation plan;

determine operational index requirements for each of the plurality of assets based on the formation plan;

verify the plurality of assets have acceptable operation indexes based on the operational index requirements and asset data in the asset database;

generate a logistics list comprising verified assets for the plurality of tasks for the formation plan; and

cause verified assets of the plurality of network of devices to execute the formation plan.

2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein operational indexes comprise observability, reachability, adaptability, controllability, security, sustainability, and stability indexes.

3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the operational index requirements are determined based on vital attributes associated with the formation plan.

4 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the processor is further configured to execute a resource dependency analyzer module that causes the processor to:

determine operational interdependencies between assets based on performing a simulation, with a simulation engine, of the plurality of states of the formation plan;

wherein the operational index requirements are determined based at least in part on an operational interdependency level of each of the plurality of assets.

5 . The system of claim 4 , wherein the operational index requirements comprise cascading operational requirements determined based on the operational interdependencies.

6 . The system of claim 4 , wherein the simulation is performed based on simulation scenarios stored in a historical scenarios database storing historical scenarios associated with a plurality of devices on the network of devices.

7 . The system of claim 4 , the simulation engine utilizes a learning engine to execute an operation loop of the formation plan to calibrate asset interdependency, the learning engine being trained on historical logistic files and asset interdependency data.

8 . The system of claim 1 , wherein operational indexes of each of the plurality of assets are determined based on an asset identifier, an asset function type, and associated asset type attribute.

9 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the processor is further configured to:

determine a risk index and/or a health index for each of the plurality of assets in the provisional logistics list; and

initiate an asset replacement process in the event that the risk index and/or the health index of an asset is below a predetermined threshold.

10 . The system of claim 9 , wherein health indexes of the plurality of assets are determined based on performing asset health analysis based on asset status information stored in an asset health database and updated via network connections to the plurality assets on the network of devices.

11 . A method for managing a power grid, comprising:

storing asset attributes of assets on a network of devices in an asset database;

identifying, with a processor executing a portfolio manager module and coupled to the asset database and a network of devices, a plurality of assets from a provisional logistics list listing assets assigned to one or more tasks of a formation plan having a plurality of states;

determining operation objectives for the formation plan;

determining operational index requirements for each of the plurality of assets based on the formation plan;

verifying the plurality of assets have acceptable operation indexes based on the operational index requirements and asset data in the asset database;

generating a logistics list comprising verified assets for the plurality of tasks for the formation plan; and

causing the formation plan to be executed on the verified assets of the network of devices.

12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the operational indexes comprise observability, reachability, adaptability, controllability, security, sustainability, and stability indexes.

13 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the operational index requirements are determined based on vital attributes associated with the formation plan.

14 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising executing a resource dependency analyzer module on the processor, the resource dependency analyzer module causing the processor to:

determine operational interdependencies between assets based on performing a simulation, with a simulation engine, of the plurality of states of the formation plan; and

determine the operational index requirements based at least in part on an operational interdependency level of each of the plurality of assets.

15 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the operational index requirements comprise cascading operational requirements determined based on the operational interdependencies.

16 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the simulation is performed based on simulation scenarios stored in a historical scenarios database storing historical scenarios associated with a plurality of devices on the network of devices, and the simulation engine utilizes a learning engine to execute an operation loop of the formation plan to calibrate asset interdependency, the learning engine being trained on historical logistic files and asset interdependency data.

17 . The method of claim 11 , wherein operational indexes of each of the plurality of assets is determined based on an asset identifier, an asset function type, and associated asset type attribute.

18 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising:

determining a risk index and/or a health index for each of the plurality of assets in the provisional logistics list, and initiating an asset replacement process in the event that the risk index and/or the health index of an asset is below a predetermined threshold.

19 . The method of claim 18 , wherein health indexes of the plurality of assets are determined based on performing asset health analysis based on asset status information stored in an asset health database and updated via network connections to the plurality of assets on the network of devices.
