Abstract

A system for adaptive power grid management includes a data management module configured to communicate with one or more devices on the network of devices to aggregate device data from the network of devices in the asset database, receive a pov file request from one of a plurality of modules in the power grid management system, retrieve asset data from the asset database based on a content of the pov file request, select a view pattern from the patterns database based on the pov file request, form a pov file based on the asset data and the view pattern, and send the pov file to the one of the plurality of modules.

Claims (31)

1 . An adaptive power grid management system, the system comprises:

a patterns database storing point of view (pov) pattern data;

an asset database storing asset data associated with devices on a network of devices geographically distributed in a power grid for power transmission and distribution; and

a processor coupled to the patterns database, the asset database, and the network of devices, the processor being configured to execute a data management module which causes the processor to:

communicate with one or more devices on the network of devices to aggregate device data from the network of devices in the asset database;

receive a pov file request from one of a plurality of modules in the power grid management system, wherein the plurality of modules communicates with each other within the power grid management system to determine tasks to be executed by one or more devices of the network of devices of the power grid to reconfigure devices on the power grid in response to an alert condition;

retrieve asset data from the asset database based on a content of the pov file request;

select a view pattern from the patterns database based on the pov file request;

form a pov file based on the asset data and the view pattern; and

send the pov file to the one of the plurality of modules.

2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the processor is further configured to authenticate the pov file request based on an authentication key prior to responding to the pov file request.

3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of devices comprises assets currently executing a formation plan comprising a plurality of tasks determined by the processor.

4 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the view pattern is selected using a learning engine trained on historical pov file requests and historical patterns stored in the patterns database.

5 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the pov file comprises view pov formed by a view construct module configured to parse asset data and create a condition-based pov for an operation loop based on a logistic file associated with the operation loop.

6 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the pov file comprises control pov form by a control construct module configured to parse asset data to create an operation action list for an operation loop based on asset function types associated with assets of the operation loop.

7 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the pov file comprises administration pov formed by an administration construct module configured to parse the asset data to identify participating applications and contextual collaboration links among the participating applications.

8 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of modules of the power grid management system comprises a grid artificer module, a logistician module, a federation manager module, an operation formation module, and/or a scout command module.

9 . A method for adaptive power grid management, the method comprises:

communicating, with devices on network of devices geographically distributed in a power grid for power transmission and distribution to aggregate device data in an asset database;

receiving, at a processor, a point of view (pov) file request from a module of a plurality of modules in a power grid management system, wherein the plurality of modules communicates with each other within the power grid management system to determine tasks to be executed by one or more devices of the network of devices of the power grid to reconfigure devices on the power grid in response to an alert condition;

retrieving asset data from the asset database based on the pov file request;

selecting, by the processor, a view pattern from the patterns database based on the pov file request;

forming, by the processor, a pov file based on the asset data and the view pattern; and

sending the pov file to the one of the modules.

10 . The method of claim 9 , further comprising authenticating the pov file request based on an authentication key prior to responding to the pov file request.

11 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the plurality of devices comprises assets currently executing a formation plan that includes multiple tasks determined by the processor.

12 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the view pattern is selected using a learning engine trained on historical pov file requests and historical patterns stored in the patterns database.

13 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the pov file comprises view pov formed by a view construct module configured to parse asset data and create a condition-based pov for an operation loop based on a logistic file associated with the operation loop.

14 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the pov file comprises control pov formed by a control construct module configured to parse asset data to create an operation action list for an operation loop based on asset function types associated with assets of the operation loop.

15 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the pov file comprises administration pov formed by an administration construct module configured to parse the asset data to identify participating applications and contextual collaboration links among the participating applications.

16 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the plurality of modules of the power grid management system comprises a grid artificer module, a logistician module, a federation manager module, an operation formation module, and/or a scout command module.
