Abstract

Implementations of a helmet with an integrated power source for connected electronic devices are provided. An example helmet comprises: at least one battery pack attached to the helmet; an accessory interface on an exterior side of the helmet; and an electronic device removably attached to the accessory interface. The at least one battery pack includes at least one power source and the accessory interface is configured to conductively connect the electronic device to the at least one battery pack.

21 . A helmet comprising:

at least one battery pack attached to the helmet;

an accessory interface on an exterior side of the helmet;

an electronic device removably attached to the accessory interface;

wherein:

the at least one battery pack includes at least one power source;

the accessory interface is configured to conductively connect the electronic device to the at least one battery pack.

22 . The helmet of claim 21 , further comprising a battery pack selector assembly configured to turn the electronic device ON and OFF.

23 . The helmet of claim 21 , wherein the accessory interface includes contacts conductively connected to the at least one battery pack that are configured to facilitate the transfer of electricity to the electronic device.

24 . The helmet of claim 21 , wherein the electronic device is a flashlight.

25 . The helmet of claim 21 , further comprising a wireless communication module operably connected to the electronic device, the wireless communication module is configured to facilitate changes to the operation parameters of the electronic device.

26 . A helmet comprising:

at least one battery pack attached to the helmet; and

an umbrella light attached to an exterior side of the helmet;

wherein:

the at least one battery pack includes at least one power source;

the umbrella light is conductively connected to the at least one battery pack;

the umbrella light comprises a housing and a light source, the housing is configured to focus light generated by the light source upwardly.

27 . The helmet of claim 25 , further comprising a battery pack selector assembly configured to turn the umbrella light ON and OFF.

28 . A helmet comprising:

at least one battery pack attached to the helmet; and

an indicated array;

wherein:

the at least one battery pack includes at least one power source;

the indicator array is conductively connected to the at least one battery pack;

the indicator array comprises a housing and at least one light source, the housing extends below a front lip of the helmet such that the at least one light source is visible to a user wearing the helmet.

29 . The helmet of claim 27 , wherein the indicator array comprises three light sources.

30 . A helmet comprising:

a first battery pack attached to the helmet;

a second battery pack attached to the helmet;

a battery pack selector assembly; and

an electronic device attached to the helmet;

wherein:

the first battery pack includes at least one power source;

the second battery pack includes at least one power source;

the battery pack selector assembly is configured to turn the electronic device ON and OFF.

31 . The helmet of claim 30 , wherein the battery pack selector assembly is configured so that a user can select to conductively connect the electronic device to the first battery pack, the second battery pack, or both the first battery pack and the second battery pack.

32 . The helmet of claim 30 , further comprising an accessory interface on an exterior side of the helmet, the accessory interface is configured so that the electronic device can be removably attached to the accessory interface.

33 . The helmet of claim 32 , wherein the accessory interface includes contacts configured to interface with the electronic device and facilitate the transfer of electricity to the electronic device.

34 . The helmet of claim 30 , wherein the electronic device is a flashlight.
