Abstract

Claims (52)

1 . A medical procedure kit, comprising:

a single layer tray having a first compartment for receiving syringes and a second compartment for receiving a medical assembly; the first compartment defining a lubricating jelly application compartment;

a first syringe and a second syringe disposed within the first compartment; and

the medical assembly disposed in the second compartment, wherein the medical assembly comprises a coiled tubing coupled between a fluid drain bag and a Foley catheter;

wherein one of the first syringe or the second syringe contains lubricating jelly and another of the first syringe or the second syringe contains water; and

wherein the first compartment and the second compartment are adjacent.

2 . The medical procedure kit of claim 1 , further comprising an outer packaging disposed about the single layer tray.

3 . The medical procedure kit of claim 2 , the lubricating jelly application compartment configured to receive lubricating jelly from the one of the first syringe or the second syringe to lubricate at least some of the Foley catheter when the Foley catheter is passed into the first compartment.

4 . The medical procedure kit of claim 3 , wherein the first syringe and the second syringe are arranged in the single layer tray in accordance with their order of use during a Foley catheterization procedure water is sterile.

5 . The medical procedure kit of claim 4 , further comprising a specimen jar disposed within the single layer tray.

6 . The medical procedure kit of claim 5 , wherein the first compartment is bounded by are bounded a first base member and the second compartment is bounded by a second base member.

7 . The medical procedure kit of claim 1 , further comprising printed instructions instructing application of lubricating jelly to the Foley catheter using the first compartment.

8 . The medical procedure kit of claim 7 , further comprising:

an outer packaging disposed about the single layer tray;

a Foley catheter securement device disposed within the single layer tray; and

one or more swabsticks disposed within the single layer tray.

9 . The medical procedure kit of claim 8 , further comprising:

an underbuttocks drape disposed within the outer packaging; and

a fenestrated drape disposed within the outer packaging.

10 . The medical procedure kit of claim 9 , further comprising gloves, hand sanitizer, and a diagram of contents of the medical procedure kit.

11 . The medical procedure kit of claim 10 , further comprising:

a Foley catheter securement device;

one or more swabsticks;

a specimen jar; and

an outer packaging disposed about the single layer tray.

12 . The medical procedure kit of claim 11 , wherein the first compartment is bounded by a first base member and the second compartment is bounded by a second base member and a portion of the first base member and another portion of the second base member are substantially coplanar.

13 . A medical procedure kit, comprising:

a single layer tray having a first compartment for receiving syringes and a second compartment for receiving a medical assembly; the first compartment defining a lubricating jelly application compartment;

a first syringe and a second syringe disposed within the first compartment; and

the medical assembly disposed in the second compartment, wherein the medical assembly comprises a coiled tubing coupled between a fluid drain bag and a Foley catheter;

wherein:

one of the first syringe or the second syringe contains lubricating jelly and another of the first syringe or the second syringe contains water;

the first compartment and the second compartment are adjacent; and

the first syringe and the second syringe are ordered within the single layer tray in accordance with which they are drawn from the single layer tray.

14 . The medical procedure kit of claim 13 , wherein the first syringe and the second syringe are arranged in the single layer tray in accordance with their order of use during a Foley catheterization procedure.

15 . The medical procedure kit of claim 14 , wherein the first compartment defines a lubricating jelly application compartment.

16 . The medical procedure kit of claim 15 , further comprising:

an outer packaging disposed about the single layer tray;

a Foley catheter securement device disposed about the single layer tray; and

one or more swabsticks disposed within the single layer tray.

17 . The medical procedure kit of claim 16 , further comprising:

an underbuttocks drape disposed within the outer packaging; and

a fenestrated drape disposed within the outer packaging.

18 . A medical procedure kit, comprising:

a surface defining a single layer tray having a first compartment, adjacent to a second compartment configured for receiving a Foley catheter, a coiled tubing, and a fluid drain bag; the first compartment defining a lubricating jelly application compartment;

a first syringe and a second syringe disposed within the first compartment, the first syringe containing lubricating jelly and the second syringe containing water, wherein the first syringe and the second syringe are arranged in a left-to-right usage configuration; and

the Foley catheter, the coiled tubing, and the fluid drain bag situated in the second compartment with the coiled tubing positioned between the Foley catheter and the fluid drain bag.

19 . The medical procedure kit of claim 18 , further comprising:

one or more swabsticks disposed within the single layer tray;

a Foley catheter securement device disposed within the single layer tray; and

a specimen jar disposed within the single layer tray.

20 . The medical procedure kit of claim 19 , further comprising one or more layers of wrap material enclosing the single layer tray within one or more folds of the one or more layers of wrap material and an outer packaging disposed about the one or more folds of the one or more layers of wrap material.
