Threat monitoring and notifications
A system for monitoring financial threats includes: at least one central processing unit and system memory that causes the system to: receive information about a threat associated with a financial services device; identify a type of the threat; identify a location associated with the threat; and notify one or more customers associated with the financial services device based upon the type or the location of the threat.
1. A system for monitoring financial threats, the system comprising:
at least one central processing unit; and
a system memory encoding instructions which, when executed by the at least one central processing unit, cause the system to:
receive information that identifies a threat associated with an automated teller machine owned by a third party;
identify a customer who might be impacted by the threat; and
provide, by a computing device, a notification to the customer of the threat.
2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the notification is a toast notification.
3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the notification identifies the automated teller machine.
4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the notification provides actionable information for the customer.
5. The system of claim 4 , wherein the notification identifies an alternative automated teller machine.
6. The system of claim 5 , wherein the system memory encodes further instructions that, when executed by the at least one central processing unit, cause the system to provide a map listing the alternative automated teller machine based upon a current customer location.
7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the system memory encodes further instructions that, when executed by the at least one central processing unit, cause the system to:
identify the automated teller machine in the notification; and
provide a map listing an alternative automated teller machine based upon a current customer location.
8. The system of claim 7 , wherein the notification is a toast notification.
9. The system of claim 1 , wherein the system memory encodes further instructions that, when executed by the at least one central processing unit, cause the system to freeze an account of the customer.
10. The system of claim 1 , wherein the system memory encodes further instructions that, when executed by the at least one central processing unit, cause the system to close an account of the customer.
11. A method for monitoring financial threats, comprising:
receiving information that identifies a threat associated with an automated teller machine;
identifying a customer who might be impacted by the threat; and
providing, by a computing device, a notification to the customer of the threat.
12. The method of claim 11 , wherein the notification is a toast notification.
13. The method of claim 11 , wherein the notification identifies the automated teller machine.
14. The method of claim 11 , wherein the notification provides actionable information for the customer.
15. The method of claim 14 , wherein the notification identifies an alternative automated teller machine.
16. The method of claim 15 , further comprising providing a map listing the alternative automated teller machine based upon a current customer location.
17. The method of claim 11 , further comprising:
identifying the automated teller machine in the notification; and
providing a map listing an alternative automated teller machine based upon a current customer location.
18. The method of claim 17 , wherein the notification is a toast notification.
19. The method of claim 11 , further comprising freezing an account of the customer.
20. The method of claim 11 , further comprising closing an account of the customer.
