Abstract

Methods, systems, and storage media for creating and presenting virtual stories using audio-based dictation are disclosed. Exemplary implementations may: receive audio dictation of a portion of a story; receive a virtual selection of at least one word of the audio dictation; receive a virtual selection of a visual element to represent the at least one word; receive an indication to present at least the portion of the story; and cause synchronized playback of the audio dictation and display of the at least one visual element.

Claims (45)

1 . A computer-implemented method for creating and presenting virtual stories using audio-based dictation, the method comprising:

receiving audio dictation of a portion of a story;

receiving a virtual selection of at least one word of the audio dictation;

receiving a virtual selection of a visual element to represent the at least one word;

receiving an indication to present at least the portion of the story; and

causing synchronized playback of the audio dictation and display of the at least one visual element.

2 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising causing display of a plurality of visual elements from which the visual element to represent the at least one word may be selected by a user utilizing an augmented reality device.

3 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving a selection of a virtual camera; and

receiving a placement of the virtual camera relative to the at least one visual element,

wherein causing synchronized playback of the audio dictation and display of the at least one visual element comprises causing synchronized playback of the audio dictation and display of the at least one visual element from a perspective coincident with the placement of the virtual camera relative to the at least one visual element.

4 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein causing synchronized playback of the audio dictation and display of the at least one visual element comprises causing synchronized playback of the audio dictation and emphasis on the display of the at least one visual element coincident with the at least one word being played back.

5 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein receiving the virtual selection of the at least one word of the audio dictation comprises receiving the virtual selection of the at least one word of the audio dictation by a user utilizing an augmented reality device.

6 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein receiving the virtual selection of the visual element to represent the at least one word comprises receiving the virtual selection of the visual element to represent the at least one word by a user utilizing an augmented reality device.

7 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein causing synchronized playback of the audio dictation and display of the at least one visual element comprises causing synchronized playback of the audio dictation and display of the at least one visual element to at least one user utilizing an augmented reality device.

8 . A system for creating and presenting virtual stories using audio-based dictation, the system comprising:

one or more hardware processors configured by machine-readable instructions to:

receive audio dictation of a portion of a story;

receive a virtual selection of at least one word of the audio dictation;

receive a virtual selection of a visual element to represent the at least one word;

receive an indication to present the portion of the story; and

cause synchronized playback of the audio dictation and display of the at least one visual element.

9 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the one or more hardware processors are further configured by the machine-readable instructions to cause display of a plurality of visual elements from which the visual element to represent the at least one word may be selected by a user utilizing an augmented reality device.

10 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the one or more hardware processors are further configured by the machine-readable instructions to:

receive a selection of a virtual camera;

receive a placement of the virtual camera relative to the at least one visual element; and

cause synchronized playback of the audio dictation and display of the at least one visual element from a perspective coincident with the placement of the virtual camera relative to the at least one visual element.

11 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the one or more hardware processors are further configured by the machine-readable instructions to cause synchronized playback of the audio dictation and emphasis on the display of the at least one visual element coincident with the at least one word being played back.

12 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the one or more hardware processors are further configured by the machine-readable instructions to receive the virtual selection of the at least one word of the audio dictation by a user utilizing an augmented reality device.

13 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the one or more hardware processors are further configured by the machine-readable instructions to receive the virtual selection of the visual element to represent the at least one word by a user utilizing an augmented reality device.

14 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the one or more hardware processors are further configured by the machine-readable instructions to cause synchronized playback of the audio dictation and display of the at least one visual element to at least one user utilizing an augmented reality device.

15 . A non-transient computer-readable storage medium having instructions embodied thereon, the instructions being executable by one or more processors to perform a method for creating and presenting virtual stories using audio-based dictation, the method comprising:

receiving audio dictation of a portion of a story;

receiving a virtual selection of at least one word of the audio dictation;

receiving a virtual selection of a visual element to represent the at least one word;

receiving an indication to present at least the portion of the story; and

causing synchronized playback of the audio dictation and display of the at least one visual element.

16 . The computer-readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the method further comprises causing display of a plurality of visual elements from which the visual element to represent the at least one word may be selected by a user utilizing an augmented reality device.

17 . The computer-readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the method further comprises:

receiving a selection of a virtual camera; and

receiving a placement of the virtual camera relative to the at least one visual element,

wherein causing synchronized playback of the audio dictation and display of the at least one visual element comprises causing synchronized playback of the audio dictation and display of the at least one visual element from a perspective coincident with the placement of the virtual camera relative to the at least one visual element.

18 . The computer-readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein causing synchronized playback of the audio dictation and display of the at least one visual element comprises causing synchronized playback of the audio dictation and emphasis on the display of the at least one visual element coincident with the at least one word being played back.

19 . The computer-readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein receiving the virtual selection of the at least one word of the audio dictation comprises receiving the virtual selection of the at least one word of the audio dictation by a user utilizing an augmented reality device.

20 . The computer-readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein receiving the virtual selection of the visual element to represent the at least one word comprises receiving the virtual selection of the visual element to represent the at least one word by a user utilizing an augmented reality device.
