Thermal insulation liners
Provided herein are products, methods, and kits, for use in regulating the temperature of an object. The present invention relates to thermal insulating liners for regulating the temperature of perishable goods or temperature sensitive products. The thermal insulating liners generally may be dimensioned to fit within a container. The thermal insulating liners may be quickly collapsed and reconstructed to improve stackability and diminish the amount of space required to store the thermal insulating liners prior to use.
1. An insulation liner comprising:
an insulating layer comprising cellulose fibers and thermoplastic fibers substantially randomly distributed with the cellulose fibers, wherein at least one of the thermoplastic fibers is bonded to at least one of the cellulose fibers; and
a paper barrier comprising a single sheet comprising a first edge and a second edge directly sealed to the first edge and the single sheet covering at least a portion of two opposing surfaces of the insulating layer.
2. The insulation liner of claim 1 , wherein the thermoplastic fibers comprise one or more bi-component fibers comprising polyethylene and polypropylene.
3. The insulation liner of claim 1 , wherein the insulating layer is recyclable.
4. The insulation liner of claim 1 , wherein the at least some of the thermoplastic fibers are bonded to at least some of the cellulose fibers.
5. The insulation liner of claim 1 , wherein the cellulose fibers comprise recycled fibers.
6. The insulation liner of claim 1 , wherein the thermoplastic fibers comprise polyethylene.
7. The insulation liner of claim 1 , wherein the insulating layer comprises 1% by weight to 25% by weight of the thermoplastic fibers.
8. The insulation liner of claim 1 , wherein the insulating liner is biodegradable.
9. The insulation liner of claim 1 , wherein the paper barrier forms an external surface of the insulation liner.
10. The insulation liner of claim 1 , wherein the paper barrier loosely covers at least the portion of the insulating layer.
11. The insulation liner of claim 1 , wherein the insulating layer further comprises one or more of virgin material, post-consumer recycled fibers, pre-consumer recycled fibers, or combinations thereof.
12. The insulation liner of claim 1 , wherein the single sheet is bonded to at least a portion of the insulating layer.
13. The insulation liner of claim 1 , wherein the paper barrier covers at least one surface of the insulating layer.
14. The insulation liner of claim 13 , wherein the insulating layer covers at least two opposing surfaces of the paper barrier.
15. The insulation liner of claim 14 , wherein the insulating layer is fully enclosed by the paper barrier.
16. The insulation liner of claim 1 , wherein the thermoplastic fibers comprise polymeric fibers comprising one or more of a styrenic polymer, ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA), a styrene-butadiene block copolymer, thermoplastic polyurethane, or combinations thereof.
17. The insulation liner of claim 16 , wherein the insulating layer comprises between 5% by weight to 30% by weight of the polymeric fibers.
18. An insulation system comprising:
an insulating layer comprising cellulose fibers and thermoplastic fibers substantially randomly distributed with the cellulose fibers, wherein at least one of the thermoplastic fibers is bonded to at least one of the cellulose fibers;
a paper barrier covering at least a portion of the insulating layer, and comprising a first end and a second end directly attached to the first end; and
a container configured to receive the insulating layer and the paper barrier within the container,
wherein the paper barrier is configured to be disposed adjacent to an interior surface of the container.
19. An insulation liner comprising:
an insulating layer comprising cellulose fibers and thermoplastic fibers substantially randomly distributed with the cellulose fibers, wherein at least one of the thermoplastic fibers is bonded to at least one of the cellulose fibers; and
a paper barrier covering at least a portion of the insulating layer and comprising a first sheet and a second sheet,
wherein the insulating layer is bonded to and disposed between the first and second sheets of the paper barrier; and
wherein the first and second sheets of the paper barrier each form a respective external surface of the insulation liner.
20. An insulation liner comprising:
an insulating layer comprising cellulose fibers and thermoplastic fibers substantially randomly distributed with the cellulose fibers, wherein at least one of the thermoplastic fibers is bonded to at least one of the cellulose fibers; and
a paper barrier covering and bonded to at least a portion of the insulating layer,
wherein the paper barrier comprises a first sheet and a second sheet; and
wherein a first end of the first sheet is attached to a second end of the second sheet.
