Abstract

Transceivers, computer readable media, and methods for encoding wireless signals in a wireless signaling environment. A method includes the step of receiving, from a wireless system via at least one antenna, a wireless signal encoding data representative of a transmission code. In response to receiving the wireless signal, the method includes the step of processing the data representative of the transmission code. The method includes the step of generating a responsive wireless signal according to the transmission code, also in response to receiving the wireless signal. Further in response to receiving the wireless signal, the method includes the step of transmitting, via the at least one antenna, the responsive wireless signal to the wireless system to identify the transceiver to the wireless system in a wireless signaling environment.

process data representative of schedule information encoded in the wireless signal for receipt via the at least one antenna of another wireless signal from the wireless system;

in response to the data representative of the transmission code being processed, direct the signal generator to:

generate a responsive wireless signal encoded according to the transmission code; and

transmit, via the at least one antenna, the responsive wireless signal to the wireless system to identify the transceiver to the wireless system in a wireless signaling environment; and

in response to the data representative of the schedule information being processed, cause the transceiver to listen, via the at least one antenna and according to the schedule information, for the another wireless signal in anticipation of receipt thereof in response to the responsive wireless signal being transmitted.

2. The transceiver of claim 1 , wherein the transceiver is configured to receive, from the wireless system via the at least one antenna, the another wireless signal.

3. The transceiver of claim 1 , wherein the another wireless signal being listened to according to the schedule information facilitates preservation of power for the transceiver.

4. The transceiver of claim 1 further comprising a motion sensor operatively coupled to the control logic and configured to detect that the transceiver is moving.

5. The transceiver of claim 4 , wherein the control logic is further configured to cause a control signal to be transmitted, via the at least one antenna, to the wireless system to direct the wireless system to stop transmission, or reduce a transmitted power, of the another wireless signal to the transceiver.

6. The transceiver of claim 1 , wherein the another wireless signal includes a wireless power signal, and wherein the transceiver further comprises means for transducing energy of the wireless power signal to an electric current.

7. The transceiver of claim 1 further comprising the at least one antenna operatively coupled to at least one of: the signal generator, and the control logic.

8. The transceiver of claim 1 , wherein the at least one antenna includes one or more antennas of a wireless device in which the transceiver is embedded or otherwise associated with, and wherein the transceiver further comprises means for coupling the one or more antennas to at least one of: the signal generator, and the control logic.

9. One or more non-transitory computer readable media having stored thereon program instructions which, when executed by at least one processor, cause a machine to:

process data representative of a transmission code encoded in a wireless signal received via at least one antenna from a wireless system;

process data representative of schedule information encoded in the wireless signal for receipt via the at least one antenna of another wireless signal from the wireless system;

in response to the data representative of the transmission code being processed:

generate a responsive wireless signal encoded according to the transmission code; and

direct the at least one antenna to transmit the responsive wireless signal to the wireless system to identify the machine to the wireless system in a wireless signaling environment; and

in response to the data representative of the schedule information being processed, listen, via the at least one antenna and according to the schedule information, for the another wireless signal in anticipation of receipt thereof in response to the responsive wireless signal being transmitted.

10. The one or more non-transitory computer readable media of claim 9 , wherein the another wireless signal being listened to according to the schedule information facilitates preservation of power for the machine.

11. The one or more non-transitory computer readable media of claim 9 , wherein the transmission code includes a pseudo-random sequence, and wherein, when executed by the at least one processor to generate the responsive wireless signal, the program instructions further cause the machine to generate the responsive wireless signal encoded further according to the pseudo-random sequence.

12. The one or more non-transitory computer readable media of claim 11 , wherein, when executed by the at least one processor to generate the responsive wireless signal, the program instructions further cause the machine to generate the responsive wireless signal as an encoded signal that is phase shifted, or phase modulated, according to the pseudo-random sequence.

13. The one or more non-transitory computer readable media of claim 9 , wherein, when executed by the at least one processor to generate the responsive wireless signal, the program instructions further cause the machine to generate the responsive wireless signal as an encoded signal that is modulated using at least one of: frequency-shift keying, amplitude-shift keying, phase-shift keying, a quadrature modulation scheme, an m-ary modulation scheme, and a phase modulation technique.

14. The one or more non-transitory computer readable media of claim 9 , wherein the transmission code includes a unique transmission code assigned by the wireless system to the machine to uniquely identify the machine to the wireless system in the wireless signaling environment.
