Abstract

A code manager system provides access to a domain in a container in the code manager system. A user navigates to elements in the domain in the container. The user selects code options from within the code manager system. The code manager system uses the selected code options to generate code for insertion in the domain HTML code. The code manager saves previously defined code and the user updates code options in the code manager system. The code manager system provides pointer codes to insert in the domain HTML code so the user can update stored codes without updating the HTML code.

Claims (59)

1 . A method of inserting generated code on a first web domain using a code manager system hosted on a second web domain, comprising:

providing in the second domain a code manager graphical user interface comprising a container and a code definition graphical user interface;

providing access to the first web domain in the container; and

responsive to a user navigating in the container to an element in the first web domain:

providing, in the code definition graphical user interface, code definition options; and

responsive to an input from the user in the code definitions graphical user interface:

selecting code definition options; and

generating a generated code, wherein the generated code defines an action, according to the selected code definition options, to be taken when a browser accesses the element in the first web domain.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the generated code corresponds to a consent management popup displayed when the browser accesses the element in the first web domain.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the generated code corresponds to third party code.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein providing, by the code manager system, access to the first web domain in the container, comprises:

inserting a Uniform Resource Locator (“URL”) corresponding to the first domain in an inline frame element (“iFrame”) installed in an HTML code of the code manager system; and

displaying the first domain in the container according to the corresponding domain development software of the first web domain.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein navigating, in the container, to the element in the first web domain comprises accessing, by the code manager system, browser development tools corresponding to the first web domain.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein generating the generated code further comprises:

storing the generated code in a data store; and

generating a pointer code pointing to the generated code stored in the data store, wherein the pointer code instructs the browser to retrieve the generated code when the browser accesses the first domain.

7 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising providing the generated code to the user.

8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the generated code is a script to be inserted in the corresponding HTML code of the first web domain.

9 . A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing processor-executable computer program instructions that, when executed, cause a computer processor to perform a method of inserting generated code on a first web domain using a code manager system hosted on a second web domain, the method comprising:

providing in the second domain a code manager graphical user interface comprising a container and a code definition graphical user interface;

providing access to the first web domain in the container; and

responsive to a user navigating in the container to an element in the first web domain:

providing, in the code definition graphical user interface, code definition options; and

responsive to an input from the user in the code definitions graphical user interface:

selecting code definition options; and

generating a generated code, wherein the generated code defines an action, according to the selected code definition options, to be taken when a browser accesses the the element in the first web domain.

10 . The medium of claim 9 , wherein the generated code corresponds to a consent management popup displayed when the browser accesses the element in the first web domain.

11 . The medium of claim 9 , wherein the generated code corresponds to third party code.

12 . The medium of claim 9 , wherein providing, by the code manager system, access to the first web domain in the container, comprises:

inserting a Uniform Resource Locator (“URL”) corresponding to the first domain in an inline frame element (“iFrame”) installed in an HTML code of the code manager system; and

displaying the first domain in the container according to the corresponding domain development software of the first web domain.

13 . The medium of claim 9 , wherein navigating, in the container, to the element in the first web domain comprises accessing, by the code manager system, browser development tools corresponding to the first web domain.

14 . The medium of claim 9 , wherein generating the generated code further comprises:

storing the generated code in a data store; and

generating a pointer code pointing to the generated code stored in the data store, wherein the pointer code instructs the browser to retrieve the generated code when the browser accesses the first domain.

15 . The medium of claim 9 , wherein the method further comprises providing the generated code to the user.

16 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the generated code is a script to be inserted in the corresponding HTML code of the first web domain.

17 . A system comprising:

a processor; and

a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing processor-executable computer program instructions that, when executed, cause a computer processor to perform a method of inserting generated code on a first web domain using a code manager system hosted on a second web domain, the method comprising:

providing in the second domain a code manager graphical user interface comprising a container and a code definition graphical user interface;

providing access to the first web domain in the container; and

responsive to a user navigating in the container to an element in the first web domain:

providing, in the code definition graphical user interface, code definition options; and

responsive to an input from the user in the code definitions graphical user interface:

selecting code definition options; and

generating a generated code, wherein the generated code defines an action, according to the selected code definition options, to be taken when a browser accesses the the element in the first web domain.

18 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the generated code corresponds to a consent management popup displayed when the browser accesses the element in the first web domain.

19 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the generated code corresponds to third party code.

20 . The system of claim 17 , wherein providing, by the code manager system, access to the first web domain in the container, comprises:

inserting a Uniform Resource Locator (“URL”) corresponding to the first domain in an inline frame element (“iFrame”) installed in an HTML code of the code manager system; and

displaying the first domain in the container according to the corresponding domain development software of the first web domain.

21 . The system of claim 17 , wherein navigating, in the container, to the element in the first web domain comprises accessing, by the code manager system, browser development tools corresponding to the first web domain.

22 . The system of claim 17 , wherein generating the generated code further comprises:

storing the generated code in a data store; and

generating a pointer code pointing to the generated code stored in the data store, wherein the pointer code instructs the browser to retrieve the generated code when the browser accesses the first domain.

23 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the method further comprises providing the generated code to the user.

24 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the generated code is a script to be inserted in the corresponding HTML code of the first web domain.
