Abstract

Integrating a natural language interface into an anomaly detection framework, including: detecting, by an anomaly detection framework, an occurrence of an event associated with one or more assets that are being monitored by an anomaly detection framework; generating, based on information associated with the detected event, one or more natural language inputs; and submitting, to a natural language interface, the one or more natural language inputs.

Claims (42)

1. A method comprising:

detecting, by a monitoring tool, an occurrence of an event associated with one or more assets that are being monitored;

generating, based on information associated with the detected event, one or more natural language inputs for a natural language interface of the monitoring tool, wherein the one or more natural language inputs includes a request to generate computer code designed to remediate the event;

submitting, to the natural language interface, the one or more natural language inputs; and

receiving, in response to the one or more natural language inputs, computer code generated by the natural language interface to remediate the event.

2. The method of claim 1 further comprising:

receiving, from the natural language interface, a response to a first natural language input, wherein:

generating one or more natural language inputs includes generating, based on the response to the first natural language input, a second natural language input; and

submitting the one or more natural language inputs includes submitting the second natural language input.

3. The method of claim 1 wherein the one or more natural language inputs includes a request for recommendations regarding how the event should be investigated.

4. The method of claim 1 wherein the one or more natural language inputs includes a request for additional information that can be associated with the event.

5. The method of claim 4 further comprising:

receiving, from the natural language interface, a response to the request for additional information that can be associated with the event; and

associating the additional information with the event.

6. The method of claim 1 further comprising:

receiving, from the natural language interface, a response to a natural language input; and

generating a structured query based on the response from the natural language interface.

7. The method of claim 6 wherein the structured query is generated by the natural language interface.

8. The method of claim 6 wherein the structured query is generated by the monitoring tool.

9. The method of claim 6 wherein the structured query is expressed in accordance with a predetermined query language.

10. The method of claim 1 wherein the one or more assets include a cloud deployment.

11. The method of claim 1 wherein the one or more assets include components in a software development pipeline.

12. The method of claim 1 wherein the one or more assets include one or more network connected end-user devices.

13. The method of claim 1 wherein the one or more assets include one or more infrastructure-as-code (‘IaC’) templates and one or more associated infrastructure assets.

14. The method of claim 1 wherein the monitoring tool is an anomaly detection framework.

15. A computer program product for integrating a natural language interface into a monitoring tool, the computer program product disposed on a non-transitory computer readable medium, the computer program product including computer program instructions configurable to carry out the steps of:

detecting, by the monitoring tool, an occurrence of an event associated with one or more assets that are being monitored;

generating, based on information associated with the detected event, one or more natural language inputs for a natural language interface of the monitoring tool, wherein the one or more natural language inputs includes a request to generate computer code designed to remediate the event;

submitting, to the natural language interface, the one or more natural language inputs; and

receiving, in response to the one or more natural language inputs, computer code generated by the natural language interface to remediate the event.

16. The computer program product of claim 15 further comprising computer program instructions configurable to carry out the steps of:

receiving, from the natural language interface, a response to a first natural language input, wherein:

generating one or more natural language inputs includes generating, based on the response to the first natural language input, a second natural language input; and

submitting the one or more natural language inputs includes submitting the second natural language input.

17. The computer program product of claim 15 wherein the one or more natural language inputs includes a request for recommendations regarding how the event should be investigated.

18. The computer program product of claim 15 wherein the one or more natural language inputs includes a request for additional information that can be associated with the event.

19. The computer program product of claim 18 further comprising computer program instructions configurable to carry out the steps of:

receiving, from the natural language interface, a response to the request for additional information that can be associated with the event; and

associating the additional information with the event.

20. The computer program product of claim 15 further comprising computer program instructions configurable to carry out the steps of:

receiving, from the natural language interface, a response to a natural language input; and

generating a structured query based on the response from the natural language interface.
