Abstract

Claims (34)

1. A diagnostic device coupled to an electronic gaming device, the diagnostic device comprising:

a sensor for sensing an internal condition of the electronic gaming device based upon the diagnostic device being coupled to the electronic gaming device;

a memory with instructions stored thereon; and

a processor in communication with the sensor and the memory, wherein the instructions, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:

during transportation of the electronic gaming device, receive conditions data from the sensor;

during the transportation of the electronic gaming device, determine that an internal irregularity of the electronic gaming device has occurred during the transportation of the electronic gaming device based on analysis of the conditions data against a threshold; and

cause a remediation action to be initiated based on the internal irregularity.

2. The diagnostic device of claim 1 , further comprising a sensory array including the sensor, wherein the sensor array comprises at least one sensor to monitor an ambient condition.

3. The diagnostic device of claim 1 , wherein the threshold is defined in a pre-configured diagnostic profile associated with the electronic gaming device.

4. The diagnostic device of claim 1 , wherein the threshold is defined based on an output from a machine learning model trained based on aggregated data associated with a plurality of electronic gaming devices.

5. The diagnostic device of claim 1 , wherein the remediation action comprises automatically gathering second conditions data from a second sensor associated with the electronic gaming device.

6. The diagnostic device of claim 1 , wherein the remediation action prevents potential damage to the electronic gaming device by at least one of disabling the electronic gaming device, shutting down the electronic gaming device, or disconnecting the electronic gaming device from a network.

7. The diagnostic device of claim 1 , wherein causing the remediation action to be initiated comprises causing an alert to be transmitted to a computing device associated with the electronic gaming device.

8. The diagnostic device of claim 1 , wherein causing the remediation action to be initiated comprises causing diagnostic evaluation data associated with the internal irregularity to be stored in an immutable ledger, and wherein the diagnostic evaluation data comprises the conditions data.

9. The diagnostic device of claim 1 , wherein the internal irregularity comprises at least one of potential mishandling or potential tampering.

10. The diagnostic device of claim 1 , wherein the internal irregularity comprises an irregularity associated with software associated with the electronic gaming device.

11. The diagnostic device of claim 10 , wherein the remediation action comprises a software update.

12. The diagnostic device of claim 1 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the processor, further cause the processor to:

transmit at least part of the conditions data to a remote computer system to perform the analysis of the conditions data against the threshold; and

determine that the internal irregularity of the electronic gaming device has occurred further based at least in part upon a response from the remote computer system transmitted to the diagnostic device.

13. The diagnostic device of claim 12 , wherein the remote computer system comprises at least one of a gaming machine gateway device, a cloud computing device, a casino network device, a database, a mid-tier server, a department computing device, or a manufacturer computer network.

14. The diagnostic device of claim 1 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the processor, further cause the processor to analyze the conditions data against the threshold.

15. At least one non-transitory computer-readable storage medium with instructions stored thereon, wherein a diagnostic device comprises the at least one non-transitory computer-readable storage medium and is coupled to an electronic gaming device, and wherein the instructions, in response to execution by at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to:

during transportation of the electronic gaming device, receive conditions data from a sensor, wherein the sensor is configured to sense an internal condition of the electronic gaming device based upon the diagnostic device being coupled to the electronic gaming device;

during the transportation of the electronic gaming device, determine that an internal irregularity of the electronic gaming device has occurred during the transportation of the electronic gaming device based on analysis of the conditions data against a threshold; and

cause a remediation action to be initiated based on the internal irregularity.

16. The at least one non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the sensor is included in a sensor array comprising at least one sensor to monitor an ambient condition.

17. The at least one non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the threshold is defined in a pre-configured diagnostic profile associated with the electronic gaming device.

18. The at least one non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the threshold is defined based on an output from a machine learning model trained based on aggregated data associated with a plurality of electronic gaming devices.

19. The at least one non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the remediation action comprises automatically gathering second conditions data from a second sensor associated with the electronic gaming device.

20. A method of performing a diagnostic evaluation for an electronic gaming device implemented by a diagnostic device coupled to the electronic gaming device, the diagnostic device comprising at least one sensor for sensing an internal condition of the electronic gaming device based upon the diagnostic device being coupled to the electronic gaming device, at least one memory, and at least one processor in communication with the at least one memory, the method comprising:

during transportation of the electronic gaming device, receiving conditions data from the at least one sensor;

during the transportation of the electronic gaming device, determining that an internal irregularity of the electronic gaming device has occurred during the transportation of the electronic gaming device based on analysis of the conditions data against a threshold; and

causing a remediation action to be initiated based on the internal irregularity.
