Assisted racking of digital resistance
Assisted racking of digital resistance includes detecting a state of a cable. A motor is mechanically coupled to the cable to provide resistance during an exercise by tensioning the cable. It further includes determining completion of the exercise based at least in part on the detected state of the cable. It further includes selectively removing resistance from the cable based at least in part on the determination that the user has completed the exercise.
1. An exercise machine, comprising:
a cable;
a motor mechanically coupled to the cable to provide resistance during an exercise by tensioning the cable;
a sensor that detects a state of the cable; and
a processor configured to:
based at least in part on the detected state of the cable, determine that a user has completed the exercise, wherein the determination that the user has completed the exercise is based at least in part on a determination that movement of the cable is below a threshold for a threshold period of time, wherein a timer is used to determine whether the threshold period of time has been met or exceeded, and wherein the timer is triggered based at least in part on a repetition count; and
in response to determining that the user has completed the exercise, selectively remove the resistance from the cable.
2. The exercise machine of claim 1 , wherein the resistance is selectively removed based at least in part on a determination that a position of the cable is within a window that is below a minimum range of motion.
3. An exercise machine comprising:
a cable;
a motor mechanically coupled to the cable to provide resistance during an exercise by tensioning the cable;
a sensor that detects a state of the cable; and
a processor configured to:
based at least in part on the detected state of the cable, determine that a user has completed the exercise, wherein the determination that the user has completed the exercise is based at least in part on a determination that movement of the cable is below a threshold for a threshold period of time, wherein a timer is user to determine whether the threshold period of time has been met or exceeded and wherein a duration of the time is changed based on a workout parameter; and
in response to determining that the user has completed the exercise, selectively remove the resistance from the cable.
4. An exercise machine, comprising:
a cable;
a motor mechanically coupled to the cable to provide resistance during an exercise by tensioning the cable;
a sensor that detects a state of the cable; and
a processor configured to:
based at least in part on the detected state of the cable, determine that a user has completed the exercise; and
in response to determining that the user has completed the exercise, selectively remove the resistance form the cable, wherein the resistance is selectively removed based at least in part on a determination that a position of the cable is within a window that is below a minimum range of motion, and wherein the resistance is selectively removed according to a ramp.
5. The exercise machine of claim 4 , wherein the resistance is selectively removed by ramping the resistance downward from a first amount of resistance to a second amount of resistance.
6. The exercise machine of claim 5 , wherein the second amount of resistance comprises a percentage of the first amount of resistance.
7. The exercise machine of claim 5 , wherein the first amount of resistance comprises a suggested amount of resistance for the exercise.
8. A method, comprising:
detecting, using a sensor, a state of a cable, wherein a motor is mechanically coupled to the cable to provide resistance during an exercise by tensioning the cable; and
selectively removing the resistance from the cable in response to a determination that a user has completed the exercise, wherein the determination that the user has completed the exercise is based at least in part on the detected state of the cable, wherein the determination that the user has completed the exercise is based at least in part on a determination that movement of the cable is below a threshold for a threshold period of time, wherein a timer is used to determine whether the threshold period of time has been met or exceeded, and wherein the timer is triggered based at least in part on a repetition count.
9. The method of claim 8 , wherein the resistance is selectively removed based at least in part on a determination that a position of the cable is within a window that is below a minimum range of motion.
10. A method comprising:
detecting, using a sensor, a state of a cable, wherein a motor is mechanically coupled to the cable to provide resistance during an exercise by tensioning the cable; and
selectively removing the resistance from the cable in response to a determination that a user has completed the exercise, wherein the determination that the user has completed the exercise is based at least in part on the detected stat of the cable, wherein the determination that the user has completed the exercise is based at least in part on a determination that movement of the cable is below a threshold for a threshold period of time, wherein a time is used to determine whether the threshold period of time has been met or exceeded, and wherein a duration of the timer is changed based on a workout parameter.
11. A method, comprising:
detecting, using a sensor, a state of a cable, wherein a motor is mechanically coupled to the cable to provide resistance during an exercise by tensioning the cable; and
selectively removing the resistance from the cable in response to a determination that a user has completed the exercise, wherein the determination that the user has completed the exercise is based at least in part on the detected state of the cable, wherein the resistance is selectively removed based at least in part on a determination that a position of the cable is within a window that is below a minimum range of motion, and wherein the resistance is selectively removed according to a ramp.
12. The method of claim 11 , wherein the resistance is selectively removed by ramping the resistance downward from a first amount of resistance to a second amount of resistance.
13. The method of claim 12 , wherein the second amount of resistance comprises a percentage of the first amount of resistance.
14. The method of claim 12 , wherein the first amount of resistance comprises a suggested amount of resistance for the exercise.
