Abstract

Disclosed embodiments herein related to a message management server that provides a platform for message publishers to build message series with different messages that are transmitted to message recipients via different channels. A message publisher may specify triggering conditions for a message series. The message management server may automatically identify message recipients to receive an initial message. The message management server may continue to monitor event notifications related to the message recipients and send subsequent messages in the series to the message recipients when conditions are met. Each message may be sent via a different channel as specified by the message recipients. The platform may include a graphical user interface to provide previews of the messages as rendered in various end user device models when the messages are delivered via the specified channels.

Claims (62)

1. A system for adjusting, by a message management server, an interface of an application developed by an application developer that is different from the message management server, the system comprising:

a graphical user interface configured to:

receive selections for build a message series, the message series comprises an in-application message to be rendered in a software application installed at a user computing device, and

generate a preview of the message series, the preview comprising a simulation of a user interface change in the software application rendering the in-application message;

the message management server different from the application developer that operates the software application, the message management server comprising one or more processors and memory storing instructions, the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to:

receive a command to launch the message series, and

transmit a payload to the user computing device, the payload corresponding to the in-application message; and

a software development kit (SDK) developed by the message management server, the SDK being incorporated as part of the software application that is developed by application developer, the software application installed at the user computing device, the SDK in communication with the message management server, the SDK configured to:

receive the payload from the message management server, and

execute the payload to cause the software application to render the in-application message.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the message series further comprises a second message that is to be sent via a communication channel different from an in-application channel.

3. The system of claim 1 , wherein a type of the user computing device is selectable to generate different simulations, and the simulation of the user interface based on the type of the user computing device selected.

4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors of the message management server to:

receive one or more mobile event notifications transmitted from a plurality of end user computing devices;

compare the one or more mobile event notifications to a trigger condition in the message series; and

select, responsive to one of the mobile event notifications matching the trigger condition, the end user computing device from the plurality of end user computing devices as a recipient of the payload.

5. The system of claim 4 , wherein the trigger condition is selected from one of the following:

a tag change trigger that is triggered responsive to a tag being added or removed;

an inactivity trigger that is triggered responsive to a mobile application associated with an end user being inactive for a duration;

a first-seen trigger that is triggered responsive to an end user first opening a mobile application or opts in on a website, email, SMS, or an open channel;

a location trigger that is triggered responsive to an end user device entering or exiting a location;

a risk category trigger that classifies an end user to one of a plurality of risk levels and is triggered responsive to the end user entering a target risk level;

a location attribute trigger that is triggered responsive to an end user device entering or exiting a location with predefined attributes; or

an event trigger that is triggered responsive to a detection of an event.

6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the message series comprises messages that are to be sent to a plurality of communication channels.

7. The system of claim 6 , wherein the plurality of communication channels comprise one or more of the following:

short messaging service;

an email protocol;

a push notification protocol; or

the in-application message.

8. The system of claim 1 , wherein the graphical user interface includes a toggle for a message publisher to select between launching the message series and pausing the message series.

9. The system of claim 1 , wherein the SDK is provided by the message management server.

10. The system of claim 1 , wherein the SDK is further configured to collect analytics associated with the software application.

11. A computer-implemented method, performed by one or more processors, the computer-implemented method for adjusting by a message management server, an interface of an application developed by an application developer that is different from the message management server, the computer-implemented method comprising:

receiving selections for build a message series, the message series comprises an in-application message to be rendered in a software application installed at a user computing device;

generating, at a graphical user interface, a preview of the message series, the preview comprising a simulation of a user interface change in the software application rendering the in-application message;

receiving a command to launch the message series;

transmitting a payload to software development kit (SDK) developed by the message management server, the SDK being incorporated as part of the software application that is developed by the application developer, the software application installed at the user computing device, wherein the message management server is different from the application developer that operates the software application; and

causing the SDK to execute the payload to cause the software application to render the in-application message.

12. The computer-implemented method of claim 11 , wherein the message series further comprises a second message that is to be sent via a communication channel different from an in-application channel.

13. The computer-implemented method of claim 11 , wherein a type of the user computing device is selectable to generate different simulations, and the simulation of the user interface based on the type of the user computing device selected.

14. The computer-implemented method of claim 11 , further comprising:

receiving one or more mobile event notifications transmitted from a plurality of end user computing devices;

comparing the one or more mobile event notifications to a trigger condition in the message series; and

selecting, responsive to one of the mobile event notifications matching the trigger condition, the end user computing device from the plurality of end user computing devices as a recipient of the payload.

15. The computer-implemented method of claim 14 , wherein the trigger condition is selected from one of the following:

a tag change trigger that is triggered responsive to a tag being added or removed;

an inactivity trigger that is triggered responsive to a mobile application associated with an end user being inactive for a duration;

a first-seen trigger that is triggered responsive to an end user first opening a mobile application or opts in on a website, email, SMS, or an open channel;

a location trigger that is triggered responsive to an end user device entering or exiting a location;

a risk category trigger that classifies an end user to one of a plurality of risk levels and is triggered responsive to the end user entering a target risk level;

a location attribute trigger that is triggered responsive to an end user device entering or exiting a location with predefined attributes; or

an event trigger that is triggered responsive to a detection of an event.

16. The computer-implemented method of claim 11 , wherein the message series comprises messages that are to be sent to a plurality of communication channels.

17. The computer-implemented method of claim 16 , wherein the plurality of communication channels comprise one or more of the following:

short messaging service;

an email protocol;

a push notification protocol; or

the in-application message.

18. The computer-implemented method of claim 11 , wherein the graphical user interface includes a toggle for a message publisher to select between launching the message series and pausing the message series.

19. The computer-implemented method of claim 11 , wherein the SDK is provided by a message management server.

20. The computer-implemented method of claim 11 , wherein the SDK is further configured to collect analytics associated with the software application.
