Abstract

A brace pipe attachment mechanism includes an attachment device defining an attachment device body, the attachment device body comprising: an inner surface defining a brace pipe channel, the inner surface defining a gripping edge at least partially encircling the brace pipe channel; and a base portion, wherein a base fastener hole extends through the base portion to the brace pipe channel; and a fastener extending through the base fastener hole and into the brace pipe channel.

Claims (47)

1. A brace pipe attachment mechanism comprising:

an attachment device defining an attachment device body, the attachment device body comprising:

an inner surface defining a brace pipe channel, the inner surface defining a gripping edge at least partially encircling the brace pipe channel; and

a base portion, wherein a base fastener hole extends through the base portion to the brace pipe channel, wherein:

the attachment device body defines a closed loop structure and the inner surface fully encircles the brace pipe channel;

the closed loop structure defines an upper loop portion distal to the base portion;

and the gripping edge extends at least along the upper loop portion;

the closed loop structure further comprises a front loop portion extending between the base portion and the upper loop portion;

the closed loop structure further comprises a rear loop portion extending between the base portion and the upper loop portion opposite the front loop portion; and

the gripping edge extends at least partially along the front loop portion and the rear loop portion; and

the gripping edge extends substantially about a circumference of the inner surface from a first hole side of the base fastener hole to a second hole side of the base fastener hole; and

a fastener extending through the base fastener hole and into the brace pipe channel.

2. The brace pipe attachment mechanism of claim 1 , wherein the closed loop structure defines a substantially arcuate profile.

3. A brace pipe attachment mechanism of claim 1 , comprising:

an attachment device defining an attachment device body, the attachment device body comprising:

an inner surface defining a brace pipe channel, the inner surface defining a gripping edge at least partially encircling the brace pipe channel; and

a base portion, wherein a base fastener hole extends through the base portion to the brace pipe channel,

wherein the inner surface defines a first tapered portion and a second tapered portion, the first tapered portion meeting the second tapered portion to define the gripping edge,

the brace pipe attachment mechanism defines a first lateral end and a second lateral end opposite the first lateral end,

the brace pipe channel extends from the first lateral end to the second lateral end,

the first tapered portion tapers radially inward from the first lateral end towards the second lateral end, and

the second tapered portion tapers radially inward from the second lateral end towards the first lateral end; and

a fastener extending through the base fastener hole and into the brace pipe channel.

4. The brace pipe attachment mechanism of claim 3 , wherein the gripping edge is oriented about centrally between the first lateral end and the second lateral end.

5. The brace pipe attachment mechanism of claim 3 , wherein:

the attachment device body defines an upper body portion opposite the base portion; and

the first tapered portion and the second tapered portion extend at least partially along the upper body portion.

6. The brace pipe attachment mechanism of claim 5 , wherein:

the attachment device body defines a hook and the inner surface partially encircles the brace pipe channel;

the upper body portion is an upper hook portion of the hook; and

the hook further defines a rear hook portion extending between the base portion and the upper hook portion.

7. The brace pipe attachment mechanism of claim 5 , wherein:

the attachment device body defines a closed loop structure and the inner surface fully encircles the brace pipe channel;

the upper body portion is an upper loop portion of the closed loop structure;

the closed loop structure further comprises a front loop portion extending between the base portion and the upper loop portion; and

the closed loop structure further comprises a rear loop portion extending between the base portion and the upper loop portion opposite the front loop portion.

8. The brace pipe attachment mechanism of claim 1 , wherein the base fastener hole is threaded and the fastener defines a threaded shaft rotationally engaged with the base fastener hole, the fastener configured to be selectively tightened to further advance the fastener into the brace pipe channel.

9. The brace pipe attachment assembly of claim 8 , wherein an end portion of the fastener oriented within the brace pipe channel defines a pointed end configured to bite into a brace pipe when the fastener is tightened.

10. A brace pipe attachment mechanism, comprising:

an attachment device defining an attachment device body, the attachment device body comprising:

an inner surface defining a brace pipe channel, the inner surface defining a gripping edge at least partially encircling the brace pipe channel; and

a base portion, wherein a base fastener hole extends through the base portion to the brace pipe channel,

wherein the inner surface defines a first tapered portion, an innermost edge of the first tapered portion defining the gripping edge,

the brace pipe attachment mechanism defines a first lateral end and a second lateral end opposite the first lateral end,

the brace pipe channel extends from the first lateral end to the second lateral end, and

the first tapered portion tapers radially inward from the first lateral end towards the second lateral end; and

a fastener extending through the base fastener hole and into the brace pipe channel.
