Apparatuses, methods, and computer-readable medium for communication in a wireless local area network
Various aspects related to various apparatuses, methods, and computer-readable medium are described herein. Some aspects may enable an apparatus to protect downlink (DL) communication(s). Some aspects may enable an apparatus to perform DL communication(s). Some aspects may enable an apparatus to communicate regarding uplink (UL) communication(s). Some aspects may enable an apparatus to perform operation(s) related to an allocation vector. Some aspects may enable an apparatus to perform operation(s) related to random access. Some aspects may enable an apparatus to perform UL communication(s). The written description and appended drawings provide detailed descriptions regarding these and many other aspects.
1. A station (STA) for wireless communication, the STA comprising:
at least one transceiver; and
one or more processors configured to:
receive a first uplink (UL) transmission request (ULTR) that is (1) configured to at least (A) trigger UL transmission within a period of time after communication of the first ULTR or (B) allocate at least one resource for the UL transmission, and (2) comprising a portion indicating whether communication of the first ULTR will be followed by communication of a second ULTR, the second ULTR configured to trigger another UL transmission within a period of time after communication of the second ULTR;
after receiving the first ULTR, receive a downlink (DL) transmission comprising a packet intended for a plurality of STAs, wherein a field included in the packet is useable by the one or more processors at least (A) to determine a total number of space-time streams (STSs) included in the packet or (B) to select a subset of values from a set of values indicating a number of STSs intended for each of at least some of the plurality of STAs,
wherein: (1) at least the first ULTR or the second ULTR is/are received at a time that is associated with or corresponds to one or more times that are each at least broadcast in a signal received by the STA or negotiated at least in part by the STA; and (2) at least (A) the first value of the first number of STSs associated with the first user position (UP) value always comprises a value that is equal to or greater than each of the one or more other values of the one or more other numbers of STSs associated with the one or more other UP values different from the first UP value; (B) the first value of the first number of STSs associated with the first UP value excludes one or more possible values if addition of the one or more possible values to the one or more other values of the one or more other numbers of STSs associated with the one or more other UP values different from the first UP value generates a sum that exceeds the determined total number of STSs in the received packet; or (C) each of the one or more other values of the one or more other numbers of STSs associated with the one or more other UP values different from the first UP value is limited to one or more values that each never exceed the first value of the first number of STSs associated with the first UP value; and
process one or more STSs intended for the STA.
2. A method of wireless communication by a station (STA), the method comprising:
receiving a first uplink (UL) transmission request (ULTR) that is (1) configured to at least (A) trigger UL transmission within a period of time after communication of the first ULTR or (B) allocate at least one resource for the UL transmission, and (2) comprising a portion indicating whether communication of the first ULTR will be followed by communication of a second ULTR, the second ULTR configured to trigger another UL transmission within a period of time after communication of the second ULTR;
after receiving the first ULTR, receiving a downlink (DL) transmission comprising a packet intended for a plurality of STAs, wherein a field included in the packet is useable by the one or more processors at least (A) to determine a total number of space-time streams (STSs) included in the packet or (B) to select a subset of values from a set of values indicating a number of STSs intended for each of at least some of the plurality of STAs,
wherein: (1) at least the first ULTR or the second ULTR is/are received at a time that is associated with or corresponds to one or more times that are each at least broadcast in a signal received by the STA or negotiated at least in part by the STA; and (2) at least (A) the first value of the first number of STSs associated with the first user position (UP) value always comprises a value that is equal to or greater than each of the one or more other values of the one or more other numbers of STSs associated with the one or more other UP values different from the first UP value; (B) the first value of the first number of STSs associated with the first UP value excludes one or more possible values if addition of the one or more possible values to the one or more other values of the one or more other numbers of STSs associated with the one or more other UP values different from the first UP value generates a sum that exceeds the determined total number of STSs in the received packet; or (C) each of the one or more other values of the one or more other numbers of STSs associated with the one or more other UP values different from the first UP value is limited to one or more values that each never exceed the first value of the first number of STSs associated with the first UP value; and
processing one or more STSs intended for the STA.
3. An access point (AP) for wireless communication, the AP comprising:
at least one transceiver; and
one or more processors configured to:
transmit a first uplink (UL) transmission request (ULTR) that is (1) configured to at least (A) trigger UL transmission within a period of time after communication of the first ULTR or (B) allocate at least one resource for the UL transmission, and (2) comprising a portion indicating whether communication of the first ULTR will be followed by communication of a second ULTR, the second ULTR configured to trigger another UL transmission within a period of time after communication of the second ULTR; and
after transmitting the first ULTR, transmitting a downlink (DL) transmission comprising a packet intended for a plurality of STAs, wherein a field included in the packet is useable by the one or more processors at least (A) to determine a total number of space-time streams (STSs) included in the packet or (B) to select a subset of values from a set of values indicating a number of STSs intended for each of at least some of the plurality of STAs,
wherein: (1) at least the first ULTR or the second ULTR is/are received at a time that is associated with or corresponds to one or more times that are each at least broadcast in a signal received by the STA or negotiated at least in part by the STA; and (2) at least (A) the first value of the first number of STSs associated with the first user position (UP) value always comprises a value that is equal to or greater than each of the one or more other values of the one or more other numbers of STSs associated with the one or more other UP values different from the first UP value; (B) the first value of the first number of STSs associated with the first UP value excludes one or more possible values if addition of the one or more possible values to the one or more other values of the one or more other numbers of STSs associated with the one or more other UP values different from the first UP value generates a sum that exceeds the determined total number of STSs in the received packet; or (C) each of the one or more other values of the one or more other numbers of STSs associated with the one or more other UP values different from the first UP value is limited to one or more values that each never exceed the first value of the first number of STSs associated with the first UP value.
4. A method of wireless communication by an access point (AP), the method comprising:
transmitting a first uplink (UL) transmission request (ULTR) that is (1) configured to at least (A) trigger UL transmission within a period of time after communication of the first ULTR or (B) allocate at least one resource for the UL transmission, and (2) comprising a portion indicating whether communication of the first ULTR will be followed by communication of a second ULTR, the second ULTR configured to trigger another UL transmission within a period of time after communication of the second ULTR; and
after transmitting the first ULTR, transmitting a downlink (DL) transmission comprising a packet intended for a plurality of STAs, wherein a field included in the packet is useable by the one or more processors at least (A) to determine a total number of space-time streams (STSs) included in the packet or (B) to select a subset of values from a set of values indicating a number of STSs intended for each of at least some of the plurality of STAs,
wherein: (1) at least the first ULTR or the second ULTR is/are received at a time that is associated with or corresponds to one or more times that are each at least broadcast in a signal received by the STA or negotiated at least in part by the STA; and (2) at least (A) the first value of the first number of STSs associated with the first user position (UP) value always comprises a value that is equal to or greater than each of the one or more other values of the one or more other numbers of STSs associated with the one or more other UP values different from the first UP value; (B) the first value of the first number of STSs associated with the first UP value excludes one or more possible values if addition of the one or more possible values to the one or more other values of the one or more other numbers of STSs associated with the one or more other UP values different from the first UP value generates a sum that exceeds the determined total number of STSs in the received packet; or (C) each of the one or more other values of the one or more other numbers of STSs associated with the one or more other UP values different from the first UP value is limited to one or more values that each never exceed the first value of the first number of STSs associated with the first UP value.
