Abstract

Systems and methods are described herein for controlling a smart glass display based on environmental conditions. The smart glass display may be configured for presenting a media asset. Further, the smart glass display is configured with a transparent display function that adjusts the presentation of the media asset based on the environmental conditions. The smart glass display may identify environmental information and determine a hazard based on the environmental information. Further, a smart glass display may observe the user's eye movement and may execute a specific function corresponding to the user's eye movement.

41 . A method for controlling a smart glass display, comprising:

causing to be presented a media asset on a portion of the smart glass display at a first transparency level;

measuring, using a sensor, illuminance information about light projecting onto the smart glass display;

determining, using control circuitry, a geographic location of the user based on a physical location of the user;

adjusting presentation of the media asset on the smart glass display to a second transparency level by modifying the luminosity and color mix for the media asset portion of the smart glass, based on the measured illuminance information and the geographic location of the user.

42 . The method of claim 41 , wherein the first transparency level is determined based on environmental conditions around the smart glass display.

43 . The method of claim 42 , wherein the environmental conditions include weather conditions and sunlight conditions based on the geographical location of the smart glasses.

44 . The method of claim 41 , wherein the adjusting presentation of the media asset on the smart glass display comprises determining that the measured light illuminance exceeds a threshold value.

45 . The method of claim 41 , wherein the adjusting presentation of the media asset on the smart glass display comprises adjusting a light transporting the media content on the smart glass display.

46 . The method of claim 41 , further comprising:

determining a plurality of opacity-based indicators in the vicinity of the portion of the display;

identifying a boundary of the media asset; and

adjusting the opacity of the at least one of the plurality of opacity-based indicators based on the identified boundary of the media asset.

47 . The method of claim 41 , wherein the user may be associated with a user profile specifying relationships between the smart glass display and corresponding actions performable on the display in the course of traveling.

48 . The method of claim 41 , wherein the smart glass display is disposed within one or more lenses of the smart glasses and supported by a frame.

49 . The method of claim 41 , wherein the smart glass display is voice-controlled.

50 . The method of claim 41 , wherein the smart glass display is controlled by movement of an eye pupil.

51 . A system for controlling a smart glass display, comprising:

control circuitry configured to:

cause to be presented a media asset on a portion of the smart glass display at a first transparency level;

measure, using a sensor, illuminance information about light projecting onto the smart glass display;

determine, using control circuitry, a geographic location of the user based on a physical location of the user;

adjust presentation of the media asset on the smart glass display to a second transparency level by modifying the luminosity and color mix for the media asset portion of the smart glass, based on the measured illuminance information and the geographic location of the user.

52 . The system of claim 51 , wherein the first transparency level is determined based on environmental conditions around the smart glass display.

53 . The system of claim 52 , wherein the environmental conditions include weather conditions and sunlight conditions based on the geographical location of the smart glasses.

54 . The system of claim 51 , wherein the control circuitry is configured to adjust presentation of the media asset on the smart glass display by determining that the measured light illuminance exceeds a threshold value.

55 . The system of claim 51 , wherein the control circuitry is configured to adjust presentation of the media asset on the smart glass display by adjusting a light transporting the media content on the smart glass display.

56 . The system of claim 51 , wherein the control circuitry is further configured to:

determine a plurality of opacity-based indicators in the vicinity of the portion of the display;

identify a boundary of the media asset; and

adjust the opacity of the at least one of the plurality of opacity-based indicators based on the identified boundary of the media asset.

57 . The system of claim 51 , wherein the user may be associated with a user profile specifying relationships between the smart glass display and corresponding actions performable on the display in the course of traveling.

58 . The system of claim 51 , wherein the smart glass display is disposed within one or more lenses of the smart glasses and supported by a frame.

59 . The system of claim 51 , wherein the smart glass display is voice-controlled.

60 . The system of claim 51 , wherein the smart glass display is controlled by movement of an eye pupil.
