Abstract

A display assembly with electric vehicle charging equipment includes one or more side assemblies, each connected to a structural frame and including an electronic display subassembly. An external portion of the electric vehicle charging equipment is connected to the structural frame and located rearward of the cover of each of the one or more side assemblies, where the cover is located forward of a display layer. An internal portion of the electric vehicle charging equipment is located at a cavity provided below or rearward of the cover of each of the one or more side assemblies.

Claims (46)

1. A display assembly with electric vehicle charging equipment, said display assembly comprising:

a structural frame;

one or more side assemblies, each connected to said structural frame and comprising an electronic display subassembly comprising a cover, a display layer located rearward of the cover, and one or more electronic display subassembly power supplies; and

said electric vehicle charging equipment, comprising:

an external portion provided at said structural frame at a position rearward of the cover of each of said one or more side assemblies; and

an internal portion located at a cavity provided below and rearward of the cover of each of said one or more side assemblies and comprising one or more electric vehicle charging equipment power supplies comprising at least one bulk energy storage device;

wherein at least the bulk energy storage device is electrically isolated from the one or more electronic display subassembly power supplies.

2. The display assembly of claim 1 wherein:

the external portion of said electric vehicle charging equipment comprises an electric vehicle charger handle, a plug located at the electric vehicle charger handle, and one or more cables extending from the plug which connects to, or extends through, said structural frame.

3. The display assembly of claim 1 wherein:

each of the one or more side assemblies comprises a respective airflow pathway.

4. The display assembly of claim 3 wherein:

the display layer of each of the electronic display subassemblies comprises liquid crystals; and

the respective airflow pathway of each of the one or more side assemblies is fluidly connected to an ambient environment and extends along a rear portion of the display layer.

5. The display assembly of claim 3 further comprising:

electronics for operating the electronic display subassembly located within the cavity, which is fluidly connected to the respective airflow pathway of each of the one or more side assemblies to form a closed loop airflow pathway, wherein said closed loop airflow pathway is fluidly separated from an ambient environment.

6. The display assembly of claim 1 further comprising:

at least one airflow pathway fluidly connected to an ambient environment and extending along a rear portion of the electronic display subassembly of each of the one or more side assemblies; and

at least one other airflow pathway fluidly separated from the ambient environment and extending within each of the one or more side assemblies.

7. The display assembly of claim 6 wherein:

each of the at least one other airflow pathway extends along a forward portion of the electronic display subassembly and fluidly connects with the cavity to extend along the rear portion of the electronic display subassembly.

8. The display assembly of claim 6 wherein:

each of the at least one other airflow pathway extends along a forward portion of the electronic display subassembly and fluidly connects with a common cavity, fluidly separated from the cavity, to extend along the rear portion of the electronic display subassembly.

9. The display assembly of claim 1 wherein:

the cavity is fluidly connected to an ambient environment.

10. The display assembly of claim 9 further comprising:

a dedicated intake and exhaust provided at the cavity.

11. The display assembly of claim 1 further comprising:

an intake area provided along an upper surface of the structural frame, wherein a first set of one or more fans are provided at the intake area, wherein at least the first set of one or more fans comprise shroud-less, centrifugal type fans.

12. The display assembly of claim 11 wherein:

a second set of one or more fans are provided along a side panel of the structural frame, wherein the second set of one or more fans comprise shroud-less, centrifugal type fans.

13. A display assembly with electric vehicle charging equipment, said display assembly comprising:

structural frame;

one or more side assemblies, each connected to a respective side of said structural frame and comprising an electronic display subassembly comprising a display layer located behind a cover;

an external portion of said electric vehicle charging equipment provided at said structural frame rearward of the cover of each of said one or more side assemblies, said external portion of said electric vehicle charging equipment comprising a handle, a plug provided at the handle, and one or more cables, at least one of which is attached to, or extends through, said structural frame at a location rearward of the cover of each of said one or more side assemblies and wherein said handle and/or said plug is configured for docking at a location rearward of the cover of each of said one or more side assemblies;

an internal portion of said electric vehicle charging equipment located at a cavity provided at least partially below and rearward of the cover of each of said one or more side assemblies, said internal portion of said electric vehicle charging equipment comprising at least one bulk energy storage device; and

an airflow pathway extending within and between each of the one or more side assemblies;

wherein said electric vehicle charging equipment and said one or more side assemblies are each connectable to a utility power supply in a manner which electrically separates power supplied to the at least one bulk energy storage device from power supplied to the one or more side assemblies.

14. The display assembly of claim 13 wherein:

the airflow pathway is fluidly separated from an ambient environment in accordance with at least ingress protection code IP65.

15. A display assembly with electric vehicle charging equipment, said display assembly comprising:

a structural frame;

one or more side assemblies, each connected to said structural frame and comprising an electronic display subassembly comprising a cover and a display layer located rearward of the cover;

an external portion of said electric vehicle charging equipment provided at said structural frame at a position rearward of the cover of each of said one or more side assemblies; and

an internal portion of said electric vehicle charging equipment located at a cavity provided below, or rearward of, the cover of each of said one or more side assemblies;

wherein the internal portion of said electric vehicle charging equipment comprises a bulk energy storage device and a utility power supply connection, where the bulk energy storage device is electrically isolated from a power supply for each of the one or more side assemblies.
