Abstract

A curb assembly for a heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) system includes a frame configured to couple to a curb of a structure, a pedestal system configured to couple to a housing of the HVAC system and to the frame, such that the pedestal system extends from the housing to the frame, and an adjustable duct connector configured to fluidly couple an air flow passage of the housing with ductwork of the structure. The pedestal system is configured to enclose a space formed between the frame and the housing and the adjustable duct connector configured to be disposed within the space.

Claims (9)

1. A heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) system comprising:

a mounting frame for a housing of the HVAC system, wherein the mounting frame is configured to extend adjacent an external perimeter of the housing;

a hinge configured to couple to the housing and having a first plate, a second plate, and a pivot, wherein the first plate is coupled to the mounting frame, and the second plate is configured to rotate about the pivot relative to the mounting frame and the first plate; and

a support beam coupled to the second plate, such that the support beam is configured to rotate about the pivot, wherein the support beam is configured to engage with a curb of a building.

2. The HVAC system of claim 1 , wherein the support beam is configured to rotate about the pivot to transition the housing between an extended configuration and a compact configuration, wherein the support beam extends away from the mounting frame in the extended configuration, and the support beam extends along a base surface of the housing in the compact configuration.

3. The HVAC system of claim 1 , comprising a panel configured to couple to the housing and the support beam, wherein the panel is configured to engage with the curb of the building to cover a space formed between the housing and the mounting frame.

4. The HVAC system of claim 1 , comprising the housing, wherein the housing is a rooftop unit housing, and the HVAC system is configured to circulate air through the building.

5. The HVAC system of claim 1 , comprising the housing, wherein the housing includes an air flow path passage having a mount configured to couple to an air flow passage of the curb via a duct connector.

6. The HVAC system of claim 5 , wherein the mount has a J-shaped cross section configured to sealingly engage with a flange of the duct connector.
