Abstract

Systems and methods for fitness tracking are provided. A fitness tracking computing system conveys information over a network to a visual display of a device viewable by a user. The device can be a smart phone, tablet computer, or a laptop. Instructions are conveyed to the visual display that identify an exercise to be performed by the user. during performance of the exercise by the user, an exercise status summary is provided to the visual display. Based on the user's movements during performance of the exercise, as tracked by a camera, feedback is provided to the visual display.

Claims (36)

1 . A fitness tracking computing system, the fitness tracking computing system configured to convey information over a network to a visual display of a device viewable by a user, wherein the device is any of a smart phone, tablet computer, and a laptop, wherein the fitness tracking computing system is in communication with a database, wherein the database stores a rehabilitative therapy regimen for the user, wherein the fitness tracking computing system configured to:

transmit to the visual display an instruction, wherein the instruction identifies an exercise to be performed by the user, wherein the exercise is part of the rehabilitative therapy regimen;

during performance of the exercise by the user, provide an exercise status summary to the visual display;

based on the user's movements during performance of the exercise, as tracked by a camera, provide feedback to the visual display;

track and log performance of the exercise by the user in the database; and

determine an effectiveness of the rehabilitative therapy regimen.

2 . The fitness tracking computing system of claim 1 , wherein the instruction is a visual instruction.

3 . The fitness tracking computing system of claim 1 , wherein the instruction is an audio instruction.

4 . The fitness tracking computing system of claim 1 , wherein the instruction is an animated instruction.

5 . The fitness tracking computing system of claim 1 , wherein the exercise status summary comprises set data and repetition data.

6 . The fitness tracking computing system of claim 1 , wherein the exercise status summary comprises timing data.

7 . The fitness tracking computing system of claim 1 , wherein the feedback is posture-based feedback.

8 . The fitness tracking computing system of claim 1 , wherein the feedback is speed-based feedback.

9 . The fitness tracking computing system of claim 1 , further comprising the database.

10 . A fitness tracking computing system, the fitness tracking computing system configured to convey information over a network to visual displays of each of a plurality of devices, wherein the visual displays of each of the plurality of devices is viewable by a respective user, wherein each of the plurality of devices is any of a smart phone, tablet computer, and a laptop, wherein the fitness tracking computing system is in communication with a database, wherein the database stores a rehabilitative therapy regimen associated with each of the respective users, wherein the fitness tracking computing system configured to:

transmit an instruction to the visual display of each of a plurality of devices, wherein the instruction identifies an exercise to be performed by the respective user, wherein the exercise is part of the rehabilitative therapy regimen;

during performance of the exercise by each of the respective users, provide an exercise status summary to the visual display of the device of the respective user;

based on the respective user's movements during performance of the exercise, as tracked by a camera, provide feedback to the visual display of the device of the respective user;

track and log performance of the exercise by each of the respective users in the database; and

determine an effectiveness of the rehabilitative therapy regimen based on the performance of each of the respective users.

11 . The fitness tracking computing system of claim 10 , wherein the instruction is a visual instruction.

12 . The fitness tracking computing system of claim 10 , wherein the instruction is an audio instruction.

13 . The fitness tracking computing system of claim 10 , wherein the instruction is an animated instruction.

14 . The fitness tracking computing system of claim 10 , wherein the exercise status summary comprises set data and repetition data.

15 . The fitness tracking computing system of claim 10 , wherein the exercise status summary comprises timing data.

16 . The fitness tracking computing system of claim 10 , wherein the feedback is posture-based feedback.

17 . The fitness tracking computing system of claim 10 , wherein the feedback is speed-based feedback.

18 . The fitness tracking computing system of claim 10 , further comprising the database.

19 . A fitness tracking computing system, the fitness tracking computing system configured to convey information over a network to a visual display of a device viewable by a user, wherein the device is any of a smart phone, tablet computer, and a laptop, wherein the fitness tracking computing system is in communication with a database, wherein the database stores a rehabilitative therapy regimen for the user, wherein the fitness tracking computing system configured to:

transmit to the visual display an instruction, wherein the instruction identifies an exercise to be performed by the user, wherein the exercise is part of the rehabilitative therapy regimen;

during performance of the exercise by the user, provide an exercise status summary to the visual display;

based on the user's movements during performance of the exercise, as tracked by a camera, provide feedback to the visual display; and

track and log performance of the exercise by the user in the database.

20 . The fitness tracking computing system of claim 19 , wherein p 1 the instruction is any of a visual instruction, an audio instruction, and an animated instruction;

the exercise status summary comprises set data and repetition data; and

the feedback is any of posture-based feedback and speed-based feedback.
