Abstract

New garment-fastening techniques are provided. In some embodiments, a new form of garment enhancement device is provided, including a waistband, wristband or other body-holding band including a plurality of alignment- and grip-enhancing sub-elements, located on or about an inward-facing side of the waistband, wristband or other body-holding band. In some such embodiments, the alignment- and grip-enhancing sub-elements are at least partially located within a channel. In some embodiments, the alignment- and grip-enhancing sub-elements are uniquely shaped and spaced in a pattern provided on or about such a band, which unique shape and spacing improves garment positioning during sleep, and provides a non-stick hold on a user's body. In some embodiments, such a pattern may also form a written message or indicator (e.g., product branding), viewable by a user. In some embodiments, said grip-enhancing sub-elements include a plurality of grip-enhancing sub-components, substantially forming a shape of the grip-enhancing sub-elements.

Claims (24)

1 . A garment fastening system, comprising:

a garment comprising a band, said band comprising a first material and configured to at least partially encircle and hold at least part of a human user's body;

a plurality of grip-enhancing sub-elements, comprising a second material, located on or about an inward-facing side of said band, wherein said plurality of grip-enhancing sub-elements are separately attached to, and separated from each other by, said band;

wherein said grip-enhancing sub-elements are arranged in a pattern on or about said band;

wherein a plurality of said plurality of grip-enhancing sub-elements are located at least partially within a channel at least partially formed by a remainder of said garment, and wherein said channel is generally U-, gutter and/or channel-shaped, with at least three sides abutting and defining a three-dimensional volume within it.

2 . The garment fastening system of claim 1 , wherein said pattern comprises at least one sub-pattern unit comprising said grip-enhancing sub-elements.

3 . The garment fastening system of claim 2 , wherein said at least one sub-pattern unit includes at least one symbol having informational significance.

4 . The garment fastening system of claim 3 , wherein said at least one symbol is comprised within a branding logo.

5 . The garment fastening system of claim 2 , wherein said at least one sub-pattern unit is spaced apart from any neighboring sub-pattern unit(s) by a fixed increment.

6 . The garment fastening system of claim 2 , wherein said at least one sub-pattern unit is spaced apart from any adjacent edge of the band by a minimum distance.

7 . The garment fastening system of claim 2 , wherein said at least one sub-pattern unit is repeated within said pattern.

8 . The garment fastening system of claim 7 , wherein said at least one sub-pattern unit includes at least one symbol having informational significance.

9 . The garment fastening system of claim 8 , wherein said at least one symbol is comprised within a branding logo.

10 . The garment fastening system of claim 7 , wherein said at least one sub-pattern unit is spaced apart from any neighboring sub-pattern unit(s) by a fixed increment.

11 . The garment fastening system of claim 7 , wherein said at least one sub-pattern unit is spaced apart from any adjacent edge of the band by a minimum distance.

12 . The garment fastening system of claim 1 , wherein said first material comprises an elastic material.

13 . The garment fastening system of claim 1 , wherein said band is comprised in a waistband of said garment.

14 . The garment fastening system of claim 1 , wherein said garment is a bottom garment.

15 . The garment fastening system of claim 14 , wherein said bottom garment is a pair of shorts, a skirt, a pair of tights or a pair of leggings.

16 . The garment fastening system of claim 15 , wherein said pattern comprises a gradient, wherein said plurality of grip-enhancing sub-elements decrease in frequency per unit of area of said interior surface of said garment in at least one direction.

17 . The garment fastening system of claim 1 , wherein said garment is a top garment or underwear.

18 . The garment fastening system of claim 1 , wherein said plurality of grip-enhancing sub-elements extend onto an interior surface of said garment below said band.

19 . The garment fastening system of claim 1 , wherein one or more of said grip-enhancing sub-elements includes a plurality of grip-enhancing sub-components.

20 . The garment fastening system of claim 19 , wherein the plurality of grip-enhancing sub-components are dot-shaped, and wherein the plurality of grip-enhancing sub-components substantially form and/or fill a shape of said grip-enhancing sub-elements.
